According the common wisdom, yes, its decently significant. Some people always use remote lodgings and switch to the 5 cards when they visit the nadir.

If you are looking for a specific card(or a few specific cards) a remote lodging will help you get it faster(since it removes around...5 cards from your deck).
Good point, but is this difference really significant? Is there a way to quantify total amount of cards in my deck with corresponding probabilities and see how exactly does probability of drawing, say, “A presumptuous little opportunity” grow when City Vices are removed?
Well...it would be very hard to do that, but you usually draw so many cards that it does add up, you will feel the difference in the cards you get even if you don't notice it(just imagine all those city vices cards you got being replaced by any non city vices card).

I just drew the following opportunity card:
"A Merry Sort of Crime: You unlocked this with Renown 22, you needed 20""A Reliable Safecracker wishes to attend the wedding of her daughter. Unfortunately, she is currently a guest of her Majesty, in New Newgate Prison."
Has anyone else come across opp cards that rely on Renown? This is the first I've seen or heard of them.

That's the only one I know of, it already existed before the change, and just got switched to a renown unlock. So there may be some in the future updates. On the otherhand, the rubbery card equivalent did not survive the switch over, so we'll see.

I have some time ago discarded the "A Tripple with the Bohemian Sculptress" card(I didn't want to pursue storylines and just wanted to farm for some cards), and now that I want to pursue that storyline (you might imagine why), I can't get the card again. Which is a bit odd, since it's an Abundant Frequency card (5x as common as standard). I am in Veilgarden, and have lodgings.
Have I bamboozled myself or am I just being terribly unlucky with drawing?
Edit: Nevermind, FINALLY managed to get it. edited by Doomjoon on 12/10/2016

There's a Renown-locked option on "The tomb-colonist's dogs," but since that only shows up when you have mid-range Dangerous and the option also requires A Name Scrawled in Blood 6, it's only really relevant for people capturing beasts for Mr. Inch.

There is another one for the rubberies, but just like the colonist one it requires 15(or was it 10?) renown and only appears for a short amount of time(pretty sure the wiki still has no info about what happens on a success on this one as well).

For someone who has completed everything minus getting an Uber/Heptagoat, getting the Cider and SMEN, what is the best grind for echoes?

Affair of the Box grind(taking the candles at the end) is generally the best option for echoes(you can't get locked out of it)
There is also an option at the labyrinth of tigers to grind *the hunt is on* and hunt goat demons with that, but if you completed the story in the labyrinth the option will be locked
I also heard(alot of times) that being a spirifier and selling souls for brass(and connections that you can cash in) is very profitable(note that there is also a card from the story where you can sell your soul for an item worth 312.50 echoes).

Affair of the Box is the gold standard (note that in addition to getting the candles, you also need to be Conscience of the Empire and intercept the messages during the carousel for the best profit) because as long as you are in London, you can always throw spare actions at it, and, as The Master says, you don't have to worry about accidentally locking yourself out.
There are other grinds that are more profitable than the Affair of the Box, but they involve flipping cards, luck-based actions, or leaving London. Grinding Collections of Curiosities through Dramatic Tension to trade to Tomb Colonists, for instance, is more profitable, but requires two card flips per cash-in: One to get a favour, and another to use it. Heists at the Offices of Baseborn and Fowlingpiece are also quite profitable, but there is always the slim chance you'll have a run of bad luck and fail, wasting many actions. Port Carnelian is considered a profitable grind, but it requires you to leave London and stay for an extended period of time to make up for the actions spent on the Zee trip (and a bushel of Sudden Insights definitely helps).
I recommend varying your grind in the interests of staving off boredom in any case, as Hepta/Cider takes a very long time.

1. Can you send Pail of So-Called Snow to another player? 2. What is the Christmas Card useful outside stats increases? 3. How do I get more Pail of So-Called Snow than the one from Fallen London Advent Calendar? It is announced? 4. I understand that you set your destiny also at Christmas for free(those that don't have it). How? edited by Tofan Bogdan on 12/11/2016
-- My profile http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Tofan%20Bogdan I would love actions that increases making waves. I mean increases making waves. All other social outside of malus actions.

1.You can't(but you can use pails of snow to do something with another player...)
2.second chances and taking care of menaces, also christmas cheer, if you care about that.
3.you will start getting an option to get snow every week(snow didn't start falling yet), some options on 12 days of Mr Sacks(which will start later) will also give snow
4.You need a point of taste of lacre(which you get through some options on a pail of snow or from the 12 days of Mr Sacks(or from tears of the Bazaar, if you hate money))and then there should be an option on a pail of snow to get a destiny.

What converts to what can be found at the top of this wiki article (or at least it can on the desktop version of the site).
