Delicious friends, the Exceptional Story for November is here!

The wreck of the Bellot is well-known to navigators on the Stolen River. But a chance discovery there will lead to a different mystery. A failing theatre. A singular plant. The first performance of The Mirror'd Chariot. Must the show go on?

The Final Curtain is the final story in the Season of Wrecks, and was written by Olivia Wood. The Season of Wrecks consists of three linked stories that send you to deal with three very different shipwrecks at the behest of the dying Severe Bluejacket.

All players are able to visit the Bluejacket and his household. Exceptional Friends were able, over the course of three months, to help him settle his final regrets. Each month's story stands alone, but playing all three unlocks the season's bonus content.

Editing and QA: Chris Gardiner, James Chew, and Cash DeCuir.

Art by Paul Arendt.

EXCEPTIONAL FRIENDSHIP

In addition to a new, substantial, stand-alone story every month, Exceptional Friends enjoy:
  • Access to the House of Chimes: an exclusive private member's club on the Stolen River, packed with content
  • An expanded opportunity deck: of ten cards instead of six!
  • A second candle: Twice the actions! 40 at once!
Finishing all three stories in the Season of Wrecks will make you eligible for an additional opportunity, to follow.

If you want to keep an Exceptional Story beyond the month it’s for, you must complete the related storylet in the House of Chimes. This will save it for you to return to another time.

Wooooooo Olivia! Can't wait to play! Literally can't wait; starting to play it exactly now.

Edit: Already fulfilled my long-held desire to stop someone being noisy by being even noisier.

I won't be able to play this for a few hours and I'm very upset about this fact - extremely excited.

The Scorched Sailor, up for most social actions and RP. Not as scary as he looks.

Absolutely loving this so far smile

I was sceptical at first, as this season's theme didn't appeal to me and I was worried as the last two stories weren't my favourites, but this is absolutely delightful!

The mechanics are good; no artificial action sinks, a lot to explore and rich characters to interact with, and there are zero-action costs where necessary. I thought initially the story was extremely short, but I love the fact that expectations were twisted with a whole 'other' story after the initial journey, which has been extremely well-written and engaging, as well as providing some very memorable moments.

Sadly, my main was low on action points (I forgot they released today, lol), while my alt has used them all up . . . sometimes I'm desperate for action refreshes just to finish, like for the first story in this season, but this time I'm desperate as I so want to know what'll happen next and how it'll resolve!

It's very good smile

Edit: Just wanted to say I appreciate that there are options for both 'moral' and 'immoral' characters, so there's an actual choice to be made, as well as clear sign-posting (I know the marking of which quirks used to be affected annoyed me, but - after a seemingly arbitrary quirk effect in the last story - this was well-appreciated and helped a lot in making an informed choice). Awesome smile

Second Edit: Fantastic through to the end! An excellent array of choices; it felt like everything we did had meaning and purpose, with a direct effect, and I very much appreciate the clear sign-posting, such as telling us whether there will be an epilogue or not (as it seemed that caused some confusion in the past). Can't praise this enough smile

I’m going to have to put this off until Hallowmas concludes. Oh well.

  • I’m already treading very carefully around here because I’ve been too busy to actually start playing Zubmariner.

Still getting through the story, but a detail I'm particularly enjoying: story/area descriptions changing in small ways as one explores their contents.

A 62.5 echo item at the end of each story, and a 325 echo item at the end of each season.

    312.5 Echo.

Try not to worry about rewards too strongly when it comes to Exceptional Stories, really.

    It Is mainly notable for
the tale of the Regretful Soldier, a story involving a lady interested in sorrow spiders, I believe, and the opportunity to invite other players when free evenings have been used up.
It's not a grinding area.

Well now. Powered through, and quite happy to have done so as the story was quite interesting. Not very grindy either, which is always a plus.

This is probably kind of a dumb question, but how do I embark to get to the shipwreck? I know last month, I was able to embark from my lodgings. But this time I can't find the option at my lodgings, at Wolfstack, or at Zee.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.

No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

I'm honestly starting to like this one, but I'm not enjoying the choices. I'm sure that's the point though.
I haven't gotten a reward from these all season, so I'm really hesitant to do what I want to in not doing as Bluejacket requested...
