Party RSVP list is linked here: Link

You're invited to a Hallowmas Party!

Where: Caligula's Coffee House

When: November 1st to November 7th, 1894 (this year in case you are unsure)

Hello Delicious friends, I TheBriteModiste have rented out a private room near Caligula's Coffee house to throw a huge Hallowmas monster bash. Table space is limited so be sure to RSVP before the guest list closes on October 31st to make sure you have a seat. The event will be catered by some of the same devilish waitstaff of the famed coffee house. Other beverages will be available upon request.

How: Go to our guest list linked here and add your name to any of the numbered seats at the 49 available tables (limit 7 seat per table). The letter A is there only as a placeholder and can be safely removed without consequence. Seating is open until the 31st, although it is encouraged that tables are filled in numberical order so as to limit the number of incomplete tables. All delicious friends are invited both the new and and the well seasoned!

This is a masked party. Guests are encouraged to wear a mask of their own choosing, or a more traditional Hallowmas mask such as those of the Clayman, Brass Skull, Fox, Owl, Bear, and Badger.

Why: This is a social event! There are no schemes to be had. You won't find any get rich quick tom-foolery here. This is a simple meeting of friends new, old, or potential to celebrate in the Spirit of Hallowmas.

This is an exceptionally good opportunity to meet new delicious friends!

What: After the RSVP period ends on the 31st, your table will be assigned for the main event. Each night (whenever night is for you delicious friend) we will meet up and talk to one member of our table. You may talk to more members, or even to more tables I will not limit your activities delicious friend! Who knows what use one might get out of such a list of notable participants.

But the hope is you will get to share some one on one time with each of your tablemates each night and hopefully get to know them all a little better by the end of the feast. The mingling and party going will last from the 1st to the 7th (the last day of Hallowmas).

Do's:
* Wear a mask.
* Introduce yourself.
* Talk about this seasons festivities.
* Be respectful and charming
* Let me know if you have any questions

Don'ts:
* Please refrain from cannibalizing your tablemates, delicious though they may be.

If you have to miss a night or cancel or any other issues that may arise let me know and I'll see what I can do to assist you as the host.

Kisses,
NiteBrite

Feel free to join Table 9, if you like. Nobody else showed up besides my character and there's only so many conversations he can have with the pepper shaker before things start getting redundant :P

I'm thinking of making an open forums RP thread to companion with this event. Would anyone be interested in that? The main event will still be done over social actions, but a side rp where you can see the masses talking to each other in one big combined room might also be an entertaining diversion. Let me know what you think, details to follow.

/me quietly locks all entrances and exits.

Welcome to the party hall. RSVP is now closed. It's time to start talking with your tablemates if you haven't already done so. Share a cup of coffee or tea or whatever with them, it's on the house. I'll use this space for general announcements, but otherwise please enjoy your individual tables. You can also post a link to your tables here so we can have a directory of threads for future reference. With that said, let the festivities begin and may the odds be ever in your favor :-)

Folks, I know you are having fun with your food fight but please. This is supposed to be a chill party, a quite relaxing setting for people to say hi and meet new friends. Fighting and misbehaviour really aren't in the spirit of things (nor is teaming up to eat the guests at other tables). I kindly request that we keep things civil, I have not been able to monitor everything so I don't know what all is going on but I got at least one complaint of incivility and so I assume that means it's enough of an issue that I need to step in and issue this reminder. Let's reign it in and keep the party chill. Kisses, NiteBrite

While I feel your pain, I must admit that none of the table threads have been as fun to read as yours so far.

As Hallowmas draws to a close, so too must this party. Thanks everyone who participated. It was a bit of an experiment/last minute thrown together affair that I wasn't even sure if I should do it, but still, I do hope you all had a fun time and maybe meet a few new contacts you might not have otherwise. In any event, I will now unlock the doors and throw them open. You don't have to leave the party hall, but the waitstaff are now off the clock and I'm headed home. So I bid you all a good night, my delicious friends.

Just my feeling, but it feels like a social convention for amusement rather than anyone really expecting anonymity. So I'd guess the Fingerking would go "Heyyyyy, it's like a Masked Ball! Get me a costume human-body-suit!" (hopefully it chose a human-body rich and well off enough to get said costume)

To a Fingerking, isn't the human-body a suit in itself ?

It's more like an exoskeleton than anything. You can do things that you weren't able to before. Like flexing your fingers! Proceeds to flex fingers. A lot.

Decision: it's okay to drop into the party now without a reservation. You just won't have guaranteed in game social interaction as you missed out on table assignment, but you can still show up and have a good time if you want.

Typical, that I first learn of this event 9 minutes after that.

If I cannot attend, I would like to point out to those who are attending that the invitation implies cannibalism of members of other tables is allowed.

Fair Warning issued on Table Four: Vavakx and I are scheming to produce a post in Mr. Pages Fabularities for "Table Four" where any and all who are sitting at table four can join us for an RP where arch-enemies get together for dinner and drinks!

I leave this choice entirely up to you. In character play is encouraged bit not required.

Where is this going to happen? Should each table set up a forum thread?

The intent is for players to contact each other in game, so that forums participation is not required. But if you want to do something extra like that is totally fine with me. Note some players will be from other places like tumblr or the various FL chatrooms though.

Does the social event, the 'get to know each other' occurs in-play or off-play?

This is very intriguing and I've added my name to the list.

On the other hand, despite having played Fallen London for a while, I'm not sure what the "traditional" masks are, and so I've just chosen a mask myself, from a mask-maker I follow online. I hope this is okay?

I also second the question of where the socialising happens.

This seems way to important to miss. I'll echo Gonen's inquiry about the nature of this gathering along with something of my own: How much are we allowed to stretch some of the rules mentioned? Do the tomb-colonists need masks? What of snuffers? Clothes-Colonies? Fingerkings for the Castle of Forests that have taken a willing host to visit this wonderful ceremony?

THE NATION MUST KNOW WHEN TO WEAR A MASK AND WHEN NOT TO!

Hey NiteBrite, just wanted to give you a heads up that my table (Table 9) only has six spots (it looks like Table 8 got the extra seat). It's not listed in the outline on the side either.

Anyway, thanks for setting this up for us. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun Big Grin

I was unable to procure a ratting license for this event, so it's strictly BYOR (bring your own rats) to share with guests.

I think that'd be nice, and useful as well. I'd been hoping to keep the Table Four RP fairly private, just so it is bounded and more manageable for the players. If you have a large room in which to meet and greet that might help my ideal by giving us a chance to do so that way instead of in walk-ons..

I am just quietly gushing over what is currently happening between the tables on the forums. I never expected such a level of inter-table involvement, especially over a food war. This is real fun.

Looking at the threads, I am thinkin we can start an all-table thread later when the individual tables quiet down.
