Fate Gifting?

So I went to gift fate to a friend, only to discover it'd been locked down- Is there any other way to do it? I remember once you could gift nex, and or convert nex to fate- is that still an option?

Fate gifting has been shut off for a while, probably due to issues/reasons connected with the two apps. There is no other way to transfer Fate at this time.
