Hi everyone! I just tried a 1 month sub to the game and am now an Exceptional Friend... but I still can't play this story? All the 3 stories show "locked".
Hiya, could you send us a bug report about this? We recently made a change so Exceptional Friends should no longer need to unlock this story at the House of Chimes. The first of the season's stories should be showing up as unlocked for current Exceptional Friends.

I wonder how this new mechanism of accessing Exceptional Stories will work? Currently, it looks like a purple bar with "Exceptional Story" over the relevant branch. But it doesn't identify any kind of eligibility criteria. Will it just be set manually by FBG?..

They probably mean that you can only do the stories under the text that says it if you are an exceptional friend(even if you have everything else needed for the action, also, no idea why I said probably when I know this from experience and its most likely just that). edited by The Master on 9/5/2016 edited by The Master on 9/5/2016

so, wait, I'm not mistaken in noticing that there wasn't a uniting story utilizing the keepsake items from the last two ES this month, right (the What Might Be An Ear and Special's Lucky Knuckles). Will we get one at the end of the Season of Wrecks, or am I mistaken and one has already happened and passed me by?

Last season's tie in is coming, but they said it likely won't be this week. Probably one for the season of wrecks too. edited by suinicide on 9/6/2016

I'm really looking forward to this story cycle! It's been interesting getting to make decisions about Strel's character when they're forced by the Exceptional Stories, but since the backstory I'm maintaining is that he's a retired zee-captain from my Sunless Sea game, it was nice to have a plot where Strel definitely already had very strong opinions about what the right course of action was. Yes, we will rescue every ship we come across. No, we will not make zee-exploration even more horrifying, thankyouverymuch.

I wonder, if I tug at the Bluejacket's beard, will it fall off? It so resembles a wig.

I know I'm rather late here, but could someone PM me the easter egg text? I chose to skip it on my main, as I consider him substantially more prudent than that.

I am also thoroughly confused by the appearance of the old woman. I can guess from the hints dropped in this thread who she is but why would she be there? How did she get there?
Someone wrote she was also in "Flint" and "Waltz". I've played both but didn't notice "her" being in there. (If my guess about her identity is correct, I know she was mentioned in both, but that's about it?)
Could someone please confirm her identity. Maybe via PM, because
I have also done the "easter egg" content which leaves me even more confused. If someone could offer a theory why things played out the way they did that'd be great.
To my best knowledge, noone can do that. Even for the people who've played it and have theories, it's all still speculation.

I see. Maybe I read to much into the hints people were giving. Thanks for clearing that up.

Apologies if I missed this question somewhere along the thread, but I am currently on day 13 on the lifebeg, and it warns me not to spend a fortnight there. Is there any consequence to this, and if so, does it have anything to do with the mysterious "The only one left" quality? Would appreciate either a response or PM, thanks!
Edit: Also, by means of a misclick I missed out on a certain meal, so I would also appreciate a PM on the contend of that choice as well. Thanks! edited by ExceptionallyDelicious on 9/24/2016

If you stay it will drastically change the story. You will miss one part of the "normal" story and get a different part instead. But you will suffer, there will be consequences for your character and others.
"The only one left" quality refers to the last survivor on the Northern Witch. The survivor plays a role in both versions of the story.
(I'm keeping this as enigmatic as possible because FBG have kindly asked not to tell what happens if you stay longer on the lifeberg than you should.)
