With the renown system? It has a set number of times you can use it. Not a limit on how often you can use it.

I would like to note that the renown items don't seem to lock off when you reach 50, since there is no quality that says that you can't use it when you reach 50 renown, because of this it may still be possible to at least increase your quirks when it's possible to reach 50 renown.

That's something to test when a faction using Watchful is converted. I think it's the only stat that can reach 300, even with moods and overstatting.

That's sort of my point though.
If you can't get them to max, then there is a point when you stop being able to use them to fix your quirks.
So while it helps fix quirks, it won't forever, it's a limited resource.
