Do I need these after gain entrance to the Nadir? I have acquired a few grinding the forgotten quarter to try and get my watchful up to 200 base

No other uses except the monetary one when clicking them in the inventory.
If you already have a few, you can try and hold up to gain 5 and trade them for a Cinder which has a rare success of SI.
Besides, Cinders look great!

That's the spirit! Keep in mind that this is a personal favourite for the trophy part of it; holding on to 4 eyeless skulls until you get the 5th! Don't think the EPA is great.

You use the skulls in your inventory. 5 skulls = 1 Cinder
