Wait, you don't violently murder every pirate in existence to get at their delicious cargo?
For me, the pirate ships will circle endlessly, as will jillyfleurs but everything else seems to follow their paths correctly. So it might be a bug on your end?

The AI isn't incredible, but I usually don't have issues. Most things seem to patrol a general region, so I guess that's what you're seeing?
