Lamia comes across the ocelot standing on a pile of books, and is treated to a hissing, spitting diatribe that includes her character, her taste in literature, and her taste in company. Lamia leans down and scratches under Bigsby's chin until he can no longer rant, only purr. Then she nudges the books out from under him and starts putting them back on the shelf.
"You know this is an argument you'll never win, Bigsby," she says.
"Maybe not today, but another day. Another day."
Lamia leans against the bookshelf for a moment, eyes unfocused. Then she blinks, and picks out two books. Meditations and Discourses. She withdraws to a cushion and sits down with them, blinking and rubbing her eyes occasionally as she tries to focus.
