Sparing the Repentant Forger at the last step of SFiG.

It's in-character to stop and put that ahead of the ultimate reward, but I still regret not having gone all the way.

Rushing to the end of my Ambition. I made a lot of inefficient choices getting to the end as fast as I could, and of course now I'm stuck waiting.

Also yes, that Struggling Artist.

Drinking from the wound. That one was definitely not a good choice.

@Shadowcthulhu & Theonie: It's now possible to reset the Wars of Illusion and change your loyalties! Just go to the Flit and look for "Bats and Cats". Raise Cats..., Bats..., Investigating..., and Seeking... to 5 and play the new option that appears. Then head over to Mahogany Hall wink

Also, yes, that stupid artist. I have a cask of amontillado ready for him should the opportunity present itself.

I am grateful that i don't have to deal with him, but if i did, i have a nice elderberry wine recipe for him. I got it from my darling aunts abby and martha. I’m sure he would enjoy it.

OK, I did not expect someone to reference that play. The Poe allusion, I expect. That, not so much.

I think my most painful decision was trying to use my Rat of Glory. I used fifteen Sudden Insights and finally ended up with nothing, then found out from a friend that you can trade it in for a freaking Scuttering Squad. In other words, I spent fifteen Second Chances to effectively lose 500 Echoes.

  • The obscurity points make it just as valid a choice as the amontillado, and involve far less regret on the murderer's part. Plus, it's a very fallen london play. An ordinary family who secretly poison anyone over a certain age and single and/or widowed, and believe they're doing it for the victims good? the only thing that's missing is an obscure reference to what they fear, and it's a perfect fit, in a way that the amontillado isn't.
  • It even has that "Terrifyingly dark but treated as a joke" thing fallen london likes.
  • Probably written in the wrong time period, but it still fits the setting well, i think.

Oh, yes! I saw the Cats and Bats storyline was back, but I haven't tried it again yet, thanks for the reminder!

I drank from the wound in hard mode. Loved it! The old bleedy feeling in my gut reminded me of all those cats I used to swallow. Those were the days.
