We're very sad to announce the Alexis is leaving Failbetter after seven years (and hundreds of thousands of words). Here's a message from him.

Awwww. I only just arrived and I know I'll miss Alexis. I'm so terribly grateful for so much about this game that he is responsible for.

I hope things go perfectly. Good luck Alexis.

Good luck to you, Alexis! Thank you for all the delicious words over the years. We'll miss you terribly.

Mr. Mercutio
Immortal. Rich. Only moderately insane.

Want a taste of immortality? Reach out to me in-game to ask for a sip of Hesperidean Cider. Please follow Ocelot's guide to asking here.

New to our dark city? Send me a message in-game and I will respond when I can with a welcome gift!

I welcome most social actions, so feel free to send them to me. Just please don't ask me to Loiter Suspiciously or to help with the Affluent Photographer. I have disavowed all knowledge of her.

It seems impossible to believe - Hatkitty's spirit shall remain in the very walls of Fallen London; our own King with a Million Words. Best of luck, Alexis, and may it be loads and loads of fun!

For those who aren't aware, Alexis is working on Dandelion, a standalone premium app written in StoryNexus that's about a Zubmarine as his last project with FBG.

On a more sinster note:

I'm kinda stunned.

When reading this my first instinct was to check if today is April 1st. Then I've checked again...

You'll be missed, Alexis. Fallen London (and thus your work) has been part of my daily life for years, now.

Thank you for all the delicious words. Best of luck in your new adventures.

Want a sip of Hesperidean Cider? Send me a request in-game. Here's an_ocelot's guide how.
(Most social actions are welcome. Please no requests to Loiter Suspiciously and no investigations of the Affluent Photographer)

I hope and trust that just because his formal association with FBG will be ending, he won't be a stranger. Godspeed, cryptic kitty.

Wiwo. Almost certainly not a squid in a cunningly tailored suit. Surely.

Care for some cider? Here's how to ask me for some. Strange pranks strongly preferred.

Care to pet a Heptagoat? Too bad. It doesn't do anything (probably).

You will be missed. If ever you decide to stop by in this city again, I would be more then happy to put on a pot of tea for you.

I will accept all actions, though I hold the right to refuse for my own reasons. However, if you explain WHY you send me a harmful action like Loitering or Dantes,And I feel the reason good, I will consider it more. http://fallenlondon.storynexus.com/Profile/Kylestien

I'm sorry to hear it - I never interacted with him directly myself, but the London that grew from his - and many others - imagination has been a real place to me for over a year. My very best wishes for his future projects.

I'm truly sorry to hear that. I've only been about for a couple of years but it's been thoroughly enjoyable, and I'm sorry to hear that Alexis is moving on.

May you find whatever you're looking for, Alexis. :-)

Now whose going to send me digging through wiki edit histories looking for clues? Fair well Alexis. Your dark humour and obscure scavenger hunts boardering on cruelty will be missed. Best of luck with your future vic... I mean ventures.

I mean this in earnest. Alexis, whatever comes next, you and the people you've gathered around you have made something (more than a few somethings!) wonderful that I respect and adore. Fallen London and its mythos are a boon that will not soon go unrelished or unappreciated. Thank you.

I say we train a tiger to wear hats and send it to him as a parting gift.

I got a horrible, cold numb feeling from reading the announcement but I completely understand his decision and think it's great he's willing to go out and have some more adventures. And I don't think I have any reason to fear, his Neathy city is left in great hands.

I, for one, welcome our new rodent overlords.

Farewell Alexis! John Moose, I like that idea! More seriously, we've been throwing a few ideas concerning what to do about this parting on the IRC, but I'm worried about discussing anything here where he might read it. Maybe you could come over?

Hello, my loves. I just wanted to drop by and say thank you not only for saying such nice things, but for making Failbetter what it is now.

I won't be around these parts, because it's important Failbetter pursues its own identity without me, but I'll still be at @alexiskennedy on Twitter, and elsewhere. And be nice to the Failbetter team. They're golden, and they're only at the start of what they're going to do.

Enthusiastic, and only slightly rubbery, kisses to you very all.
