Looks like moods are back up! Sooner then I thought they'd be too.

I have just pulled a Mood Card! In the Bazaar Side-Streets, if that matters to anyone.

I...have no idea how to employ this usefully, to be honest.

Well what do you know, I just drew one. In the Flit, if anyone cares to know.

Given Failbetter's track record for making even minor announcements, I'd be surprised. I've sent in a bug report.

I asked this the other day on the subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/fallenlondon/comments/4ylvfj/any_drawing_any_mood_cards/) and got this reply from one of the developers:

"Can confirm that the Mood cards have been back in the game officially since 10th May, delicious friends"

Personally, I haven't drawn a Mood card in months, and I draw cards fairly often. Maybe they changed the rarity or something, because it's been longer now than ever without seeing one of them.

They used to be drawable everywhere. Right before they were locked, they seemed quite common actually, I used to draw one once a month at least.

This thread has now been repeatedly bumped during the last 10 days without a single forum user reporting the drawing of a Mood card since January/February. I'm pretty certain they're not in the game currently.

Hopefully they, together with free early-game-Fate, Fate- and Notability-gifting and marriage/divorce will return as soon as the Android app is out and working!

So, can someone actually confirm drawing one in, like, the last 4 weeks? Because I haven't seen any since very early this year...

They are rare, yes. But I would like to get even a single report of anyone getting a Mood card since they got unlocked. I know that people who had saved them in hand could use them (I am one of those people) and so far this has been proffered as proof that they are available but has anyone actually *drawn* one since they had gone on their hiatus?

They were gone in the first place?

Moods have been gone for close to a month. For that period of time the cards could not be drawn and any mood cards in hand had all options locked.

Marriages are still locked though.

I haven't seen any. This is getting past the usual jerkish nature of RNG to me.

I'm glad we have confirmation that Moods are back and Courier's Footprint is once again possible. But the conspiracy theories in me can't help but be a little suspicious of so many reports of them in such a short space of time, after such a long fallow period, right after a response to a bug report on the subject.

Has the RNG been engaged in a mass trolling exercise? Have The Masters been holding them back to keep us from scholaring the correspondence. When asked if moods were working did a developer say "it's fine. Everything is fine." While shifting their eyes back and forth in a suspicious manner, then quickly tweak some values while no one was looking? Are we in the middle of a surprise mood party thrown to allay our suspicions?

Despite my tone here I do think the most likely culprit is the RNG, for it is a cruel and capricious beast bent on sowing doubt and misery.

I did get a response saying "the content should now be working as intended" so either there was a bug which is now fixed or I'm misreading it and the intended meaning was "the content should now [since being re-enabled] work."

Ah, that would make sense. I was only aware of the response that said it should have been working since May 10th.

Good to see confirmations that they're back. It'll still take 6+ months for me to draw one, but oh well.

Of the rare cards, they're certainly the rarest for me. I get A Commotion Above! and A Disgraceful Spectacle far more often.

It's been a long time since I remember seeing them but I'm a bad test case. I don't bother to mouse over the cards most of the time so even before they left I know I was accidentally discarding them thinking they were low level lodging cards or "A library of your very own" (I managed to forget they existed for years until I was working on Courier's Footprint). It's one of the problems that the UI has in general. If a border/image combination isn't unique it's easy to get tired of checking and just assume your looking at the most common version.

So what do you guys do with moods? I always get one and then I'm not really sure how I should use it. I have high stats already and I feel like I'm wasting a rare card.

I haven't actually used one in a long time. Reaching Courier's Footprint (Scholar of the Correspondence 21) is the only thing that absolutely requires one. Other than that, they're just a nice temporary boost to a stat. For some low leveled characters, this might give them a chance to advance through something more easily.

Dreading the wait. I drew a couple when I first started playing the game and never again. Now I'm waiting for one for Optimizing (tm).

There are cards that can only be drawn in certain locations, and if you had one in your hand it wouldn't be obvious that that hidden requirement exists. It's totally possible for them to be usable but not drawable. (I've drawn one only once, shortly after I started playing in January.)

I haven't seen one in months, either, and I do check all of my cards to make sure I'm not throwing one out. In response to the question about what to do with them, they are also useful (and perhaps necessary) to raise Renown to high levels.

I am making my push for Courier's Footprint and just accidentally misclicked and discarded the Mood I've been holding for the last 9 months. Don't suppose _anyone_ has seen one in the last few weeks? If I've literally discarded the only way to get the thing that has been my main goal for the last year, I'm not going to take it well.
