Welcome, delicious friend! You can acquire more rats on a string by hunting with a rat-catcher from the Department of Menace Eradication in Watchmaker's Hill. And yes, the profusion of items and qualities does begin to make more sense, or at least more nonsense. :P

Many actions or stories are limited to people with a certain minimum quality in something. Often you need to spend a specific amount of a particular item to perform an action.
