If it is a 28-day "only once per Feast" living story similar to the one that kicks off when getting a tattoo, they'll start to conclude next week for those who got "An Incident at Millicent's" in the days shortly after that story appeared. There may or may not be any story, quality change, etc. connected to that 28-day expiration -- there isn't for tattoos.

Update for those watching the "Incident at Millcent's" quality -- it just cleared for me with no further effects besides resetting "Incident at Millicent's" and "A Visit to Millicent's" to 0. So the tattoo quality and the incident quality are both on 28-day living story timers and are set up that way to allow you to get a tattoo (or an incidentful visit) once per year at the Festival. Message text follows in spoilers!
"You remember the lamp glowing in the crooked caravanserai. The lilac of Millicent's dress. Her needles and inks. Perhaps you could visit her again, during the next Feast of the Rose. Your 'A Recent Visit to Millicent's' Quality has gone! Your 'An Incident at Millicent's' Quality has gone!
Yes. Very little, but something. I'm told it affects your quirks if you're picking it during the making your name quests. In addition, the school of art you associate with decides the price of becoming closest to the bohemians- or at least the form the price will take.

When Sacks visits- in near-january december, the season that was once called christmas, you can give mr. sacks a dream of skies untainted only if you're of the celestial's school, or this work of mine only if you're a bazaarine. Both have alternative options, though, and you can swap at will for ~4 actions.

There are a handful of other uses, but these are the primary ones.

I found the Correspondence Stones in the Forgotten Quarter and was investigating them. There were 2 related options. One increased my Investigating... after a Watchful check, the other cost some secrets. I knew I had to increase the Investigating... to 5. But when I tried the option that cost secrets the whole thing ended. I guess I didn't pay enough attention since I didn't expect that to happen. Did I miss anything important by not raising the Investigating...?

If I remember correctly, that entire thing is a dead end. Progression will present itself from another source, provided your primal watchfulness peaks passably, pilgrim.

Is there a reliable (not card-dependant) way to raise Tomb Colonists connections without getting yourself exiled? I can't seem to find anything...

You can use a Diary of the Dead up to 20, but beyond that the conflict cards with Society and Rubbery Men are your best bet. (And Tomb-Colonist connections are soon to be replaced by Favours/Renown, keep in mind.)

Yup, that's the exact reason I wanted to grind them before that time. Sadly, it seems my daring plan had failed. Well, damn.
Thanks anyway smile

I nead an horribly huge quantity of Nevercold Brass Slivers for my Ambition. Any good ways to farm it? I'm not a POSI yet.

You will start to obtain a large amount of brass when you start dueling the black ribbon.

I know where you're headed in your ambition, so let me advise you that you'll have needs to be a POSI and should start working towards that n

I'm happy to be correctted but if you are after 5000 for buttons I'm pretty certain that choice doesn't get you any advancement, you really need the tentacle key instead. Save your grinding here and work on getting your own ship instead...

Thanks to you both, dear friends. So, to the Flint I go - I just need 10 more damned points of Shadowy to become a POSI. Time for some stealing!

(Is it just me, or Shadowy is really the most difficult stat to raise?)

Oddly, that one's my strongest . . .

Generally, the carousel in Spite is a good way to grind for shadowy levels, as well as to earn items you can use at any stage (stolen kisses for up-grinding favours, I believe, as an example). Flint, I find, a little less useful, but the heists can be useful, particularly if you need bazaar permits or the like (with good rare successes) . . . if you're raising casing for 'thefts of a particular character', I find they're least useful for stat-boosting.

The Flit, I assume, gentlemen and folk of a mysterious gender?

The aforementioned carousel in Spite resulting in stolen kisses is the fairly high level Affair of the Box, just to clarify.

Before you're a POSI Shadowy is Grindy admittedly. Just be prepared to get rid of your suspicion through social actions, absolution solution, or the Airs storylet in Spite and there'll be less consequence.
