What will happen to this mechanic once all the connections are switched to favours?
It seems conflict cards will be difficult to draw even on purpose, and be expensive to use. Will they still be the main way to grind SiC?

At the moment it's what puts some conflict cards into the "worth an action" column. Getting an extra 1.09 epa per card (for the first 10cps) and a stat-scaling reward thereafter is no small bonus.
The new cards are going to have to be much more influential to keep up.
