“And when the boatman takes us, what then? Butterflies some claim. Butterflies stretching the wings across the sea, through the mind of gods before the jungle welcomes us. Parabola, reality at its epoch. The darkness of these flesh bodies. . .Ah, but there is nothing we can do about that now. Illumination is at hand. Are you here on the behalf of mysteries or did one of my students recruit to beg for an extension? Such blinded sort, the students these days.”

*Knobby smiles getting the Cant of this Speak. He enacts the speech tone he had on his last "Return to the Den," making a few Butterflies and (more appropriately) Moths pop in while doing so at appropriate times, just as quickly to vanish when also their Time is finished. *

"We are all but Force in their Shells. What we are when we Dream, when we go Elsewhere is what we Make of Ourselves. Can we be but a floating Butterfly? Or are we the Moth reborn from the end of our former Selves? Even Death does not guarantee an End as Storm the Thunder-God Screams to those who can listen.

Ask why falling off a Boat gets us wet in Life, but causes our known Journey to end on this Realm in Death?

Only the Garden can say why, and the Mountain never explains, unless you can Fly."

*On that note, several White Doves (not ravens) appear from Nobby's sleeve and fly out the (wasn't that just closed) door.*

"But you ask 'Have we met before?' I will allow the Sleeping to say it in his words as best he does."

*For the briefest of moments, Nobby's eyes flash what appears to be either a 'Neath-colour or perhaps Violet, and he says in Nobby's "artful" tongue,*

I've 'een you, but y' never 'nowingly met me, Guvnor."
[Edit: OOC: I really have to stop ending up going to the Mirror Marches with my Character while doing RP threads. Well, his SotC is finally 7, so that's going to happen a lot less now!]

"Of course, they do not know that failures are mere rips in the fabric of life of life that we must fix ourselves in order to prosper. Yet it is on the behalf of mysteries that we have arrived. From this here mirror, a spider did crawl, and when it tried to escape, my attempts to capture it led to it becoming a mirrored artifact, that I had lost. While reaching in, I also experienced vision of a London blanketed by web and a strange large ornate mirror." he says handing the shattered hand mirror to the Professor.

“Transformation of the basest sort. But for every action, there is a reaction. Every reaction, another action. Your spider sleeps but another awakes. What do you think spiders dream of? Though all roads lead to London, their dreams do not end there. London is but merely the threshold of spider dreams. But what awoke? This spider clearly sleeps in stone, so stone awoke into something else. Stone is just transitional period of being. That’s why I prefer to live in wood houses. Their dreams are less violent.”
He takes the mirror and holds it up to another mirror behind him. The mirror behind him cracks, and a spider falls through the crack. Mr. Zant catches it with one hand and drops it into a jar on his desk.
“Interesting coloration on that one . . .”

"Is the surface of the spider mirrored? If it is, try imagining yourself on the other side of the room." proclaims Koldun, eagerly looking at the professor.

There is a pop of humidity and the faint smell of green as he disappears and reappears on the other side of the room. He shakes to small spiders out of his pocket.
"Stange, I only started with one."

"What? That has never happened to me before. I would start with one spider, and I would end with one spider. Why is it different with you?" He asks, looking more confused than he has ever been.

"Someone is putting spiders back through. Therefore, extra spiders come out. Maybe they are trying to encourage their spiders to sleep in stone."

Mr. Zant holds out his hands. They are ink-stained and slightly swollen from spider bites. But perhaps there is something that only certain scholars can see?

"I have been many things, but I do not steal from fellow scholars. Well, I don't idly steal from fellow scholars. Others do though. Perhaps you should check with my colleges as well." Mr. Zant is quite offended.

"Right O'. If 'e stol' from 'im, You'd 'ever 'ee it comin'. We're jus' th' 'livery service for 'em. T' Spiders," Nobby responds, who kept quiet to let them work out the movements. "Now, have ya looked, I mean LOOKED at what is there, but perhaps not seen? If ya' kin 'help me Dirae? " With that, Nobby looks for "hidden" signs of the Correspondence similar to what he saw when "Away" not too long ago. While not an Academic like his associate, he surely knows what the signs are all-too-well by now.

“There’s a symbol on the spiders. Either it means ‘a great and terrible ambition,’ or ‘drama told only in dreams.’ Of course it could be a very similar sign which just means ‘simple illusion to distract.’ What are your interpretations?”

"Well, if you were to ask me to get creative. . .but taking over London certainly is a great and terrible ambition."

"The mirror is probably imbued with some property that turns spiders into figurines. But why? They're hardly powerful weapons unless alive. Unless.. What if they are using these mirrors to turn their spiders into these artifacts, then steal them back in order to create some kind of mechanism or relic out of all of the figurines. The vision I saw was probably the thoughts of whoever puts the spiders through the mirrors and reaching through the mirror created a link. But why did the spider only become a figurine the second time it went through the mirror, not the first, like yours did?" he asks the professor, pacing around the room in a random fashion.

"Yeah we kinna' see what is consistent yet. But I thinna' the groupin' is a good idea. I was gonna' suggest the 'Rat of Glory' Ambush, but y' gots a better idea on that. Ambitions aren't quick, so I hops we got time."

"Whatever is being built is probably something big, so they'd need a lot of open space for it, so I say we try to track any suspicious purchases of large buildings or rooms." Says Koldun excitedly

"Or large boats. They could use a close island on the zee as their base as well. Not to mention the extensive basement system underneath some of the buildings. They also could've set up base in some of the wilder areas around Watchmaker Hill or Forgotten Quarter. In fact, there is quite a lot of areas once you leave the inhabited part of London behind."
