What one of the connection faction items is the quirk polisher?
Or does this one require trips to let myself ... be changed?

It seems that an Endowment of a University Fellowship can help you with that Austere quirk

Notably, the Nodule of Pulsating Amber can be acquired from The End of Battles card in the Cave of the Nadir for three Hard-earned Lessons, so if you're trying to polish Austere on a budget, that might be a decent option.

Isn't it equally cheap to grab the enigma, sell it, and get the pulsating amber from the bazaar? or the airaig, but i'm not speaking about that possibility, valuable or not valuable.

The Pulsating Amber costs 100 echoes from the Bazaar and sells for 62.5. If you grab something else and sell it, you still have to spend an extra 37.5 echoes, so getting it from the card is cheaper (of course, you might be trying to stockpile enigmas or airag).

Also, the second chances used for Airag and Enigma are more valuable in end game than that of the Amber

  • The cost. almost all of them cost ~60, and sell for the same, but no, pulsating amber had to be so much more pricey! it's not even that useful!

Uni fellowship is 100, too, and that's not particularly useful either. Some of them go for as little as 30. Go figger.
