A presence dominates your Lodgings. Its fur-trimmed robe is the red of blood on snow.

Every year, Mr Sacks calls upon Londoners, demanding offerings for its terrible sack. And Londoners give; anything to make it leave.

Now it has a commission for you. Three dark deliveries to places far and wide, across the Zee.

Captains who have submitted a port report for Avid Horizon are warned to expect a red-clad visitor at their Lodgings. This story is best attempted when your captain is well-traveled.

This free story by Richard Cobbett comes with our most delicious wishes, to all of our players, for a merry winterval!

Our humble thanks to you for playing Sunless Sea, for sharing and reviewing it, and making this year an unprecedented triumph for our team. We’ll see you again in 2016.

I can't stop staring at that..... bizarre image in the left of the picture.
It's hypnotizingly confusing. That blank-eyed, yet self-satisfied, expression.
Like a mavelolent grandmother Drownie.

It looks like a small child who just at chocolate so delicious that his internal organs are melting.

Well yeah, like I said I'm not sure which Master is this Sacks's Original. I don't really know much about Mr. Fires but this doesn't really strike me as quite the same behavior, especially the rivalry issue since the only conflict I remember involving him was with Spices.
Mr. Wines has a rivalry with Mr Spices concerning dreams, so it is likely to not be related to Nomen. Mr. Fires has a rivalry with Mr. Stones concerning a box and whether London should stay or go, so it does not seem related, either. Mr. Veils has a rivalry with... someone who is no longer around, that is urging people to go North.

We can automatically rule out Stones (talks in very short sentences), Irons (silent), and Pages (uses perfectly cromulent words).

My theory is that this Sacks is either Mr. Veils or his rival.
Though I've only chosen one ending option, specifically the shorter ending, the story felt much more... emotional than many of the other storylines I've played. Though that's partially due to the air of unresolved mystery I was left with. I don't really understand which Master this Sacks was, aside from the slight knowledge of who it wasn't.

Also is Mr. Sacks really supposed to have +2000 engine power and +25% fuel efficiency, given that he's not equippable?

It's not a Master,
It's multiple Noman emulating multiple Masters. Considering his engine stats, it suggests he's Mr. Fires' Noman! wink

There was a Mr Sacks, once upon a time. He was quite unlike the Sackses who have visited us over the past few years. We don't know who or what he was, or what has happened to him.

Question: is there any extra content with the little snowchild for a captain who is planning to go East themselves?
This looks pretty interesting. I tried starting up a new game, fresh captain (shadowed past), no stats/legacies, steam launch and got pretty far in the quest before a zee bat spotted me and I died. But it seemed like this new Mr Sacks storyline isn't very stats or hold intensive. It felt like it was doable even with a completely fresh and disadvantaged captain blindly zailing an undiscovered map (with a bit of knowledge on how tiles spawn).
What I found interesting was I wasn't able to immediately identify which master was playing the role of Mr Sacks. It might be I just didn't get far enough in the content, and I'll need to try again for sure, but this may lend some credence to the theory that Mr Sacks is the 11th unique Master.
Once you get to the third delivery it becomes more clear who you're dealing with. And after that delivery, if you continue on to the next part of the story, there are some more advanced requirements (you have to have reached the end of a particular island's story, or near the end).

    Thank-you!

Can I ask will this remain available to play after the holiday is past, or is it purely seasonal?
