Not having a 100% chance on the Gang of Hoodlum's Casing, I've been hunting Spider Councils for Primordial Shrieks and converting up. Not sure on the efficiency of that though.
I think it's one of the better sources of Primordial Shrieks for mid-level players. That would help you get decent Dangerous CP's too. You might want to hunt and then breed Somnolent Hyaena's at Labyrinth of Tigers too for Maniac's Prayers if your Dangerous stat can handle it.
Stupid question time, but with all the Making Your Name rework changes and powerful Advent goodies what is mid-level exactly these days?

Just my opinion, but I think becoming a POSI is a good mark for determining whether you're a mid-level or not.

Just my opinion, but I think becoming a POSI is a good mark for determining whether you're a mid-level or not. I was wondering that because two of my characters were PoSi recently and was trying to determine if that Spider council option was better for them or if they should try the higher-up option. They are maddeningly between the two options in aptitude But neither yet have built their Hoodlums yet.

Well you can use "the decoy" for grinding casing instead. Not exactly as good as the Hoodlums but you can earn a small profit off the bundles that it generates.

Ach, I'm being such an accountant at this game, but.. Does anyone know if gaining ST through converting rubbery hound is better than other methods - EPA wise? That includes traveling to *a certain place* through the short cut, doing the carousel (the late part of the carousel gives about 1.45 echos per action), getting the hound and readying it at the 4th coil.
I estimated 1.3 echoes per action, which I think is roughly equivalent to (maybe a tiny bit better than?) using thefts of a particular character.
I believe it takes 39 actions to go to Flute Street, run through the cycle, and return to London. You'll net ~ $15.50 and a Rubbery Hound.
Pulling out all the stops while breeding takes 22 actions.
You have ~75% chance for 5 threnodies, ~25% chance for 4 threnodies (average: $59.5)
So 61 actions for 75 echoes.
The downside is that you miss out on opportunity cards in Flute Street, including the Urchins. The bright side is that you can feed the whispered hints you acquire at Flute Street into forgotten quarter expeditions, and net yourself some more storm threnodies that way.
Also, Flute Street is great. edited by uli on 12/21/2015

I got more trash (really back luck there) than treasure, but thanks!
