I recently obtained an opportunity to access Flute Street, however it is a Fate locked option. I'm not requesting any spoilers, but is there any non-Fate way to get there? Based on the snippets I have read, I don't think so, but I just wanted to check if there's a way to get it done with a little elbow grease.

Nope, you have to spend Fate to get to Flute Street.

No. There is no non-Fate means of reaching Flute Street at this point.

Another thing is that if you don't pay the 25 fate you will get a useless card that is only useful if you think 50 glim is worth wounds and nightmares, so I wouldn't even start the story if you don't plan to spend fate, just saying this for anyone who thinks about starting the story(as I remember, it doesn't start from an opportunity card, I may be wrong through).

No more gift exchanges, im getting too many and I can barely hold these. He has knowledge of a certain enigma, ask, you will get a clue.

The story is started and played through opp. cards. However, there are some stages in the story (5-6) where the story becomes a universal storylet instead. It's best to leave it in this stage if you're not planning to go to Flute Street.

It does provide a point of SotC up to level 7, but it is otherwise pretty annoying.
