Anti-candles seem to have been eradicated from the game at long last. may we light a non-existent candle to mourn their passing. correct me if i'm wrong, though.

*Tears roll down truthseeker cheeks as he creates one of his rare Melancholy compositions not involving Correspondence...for obvious non-light reasons*

Goodbye "Darkness Seen"
Though I barely knew you at all
You had the Shadowy to hold yourself
While those around you sprawled
They sprawled out of the museum
And they whispered of your Ways
They set you on Heists
And they made you end your Days

And it seems to me you lived your dark life
Like an Anti-candle in the Wax-wind
Never knowing whom to unshine to
When the Lacre set in
And I would have liked to know you better
But I was just newly arrived kid
Your Anti-candles burned out long before
The Warning Notes ever did

Loneliness is tough
The toughest role Captains ever played
Slowcakes created superstars
And pain was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh, the Journalists hounded you like before
But all the Newspapers had to say
Was that Anti-Candles were no more

And it seems to me you lived your dark life
Like an Anti-candle in the Wax-wind
Never knowing whom to unshine to
When the Lacre set in
And I would have liked to know you better
But I was just newly arrived kid

Your Anti-candles burned out long before
The Warning Notes ever did

Goodbye "Darkness Seen"
Though I barely knew you at all
You had the Shadowy to hold yourself
While those around you sprawled
Goodbye "Darkness Seen"
From the Midnighter in the twenty Second Spire
Who sees you as something more than "Dark"
More than just "Anti-Fire."

And it seems to me you lived your dark life
Like an Anti-candle in the Wax-wind
Never knowing whom to unshine to
When the Lacre set in
And I would have liked to know you better
But I was just newly arrived kid
Your Anti-candles burned out long before
The Warning Notes ever did

    What is an anti-candle?

  • When lit, an anti-candle sheds darkness. In-game they function just like Hastily Scrawled Warning Notes. They can only be found in the Museum of Mistakes.

Or maybe she doesn't think admitting to robbing the Museum of Mistakes in public is a good idea ... Not that I would know, of course.

I suddenly feel rather silly for my previous words. (Also to the constables, I totally lied earlier. Wasn't me.)

  • I'm suddenly wondering if I'm going to wake up to +7 suspicion as a gift from Alexis for my own admission of thievery now

Not that that sort of thing happens much anymore

Eta: Of course saying that is probably also tempting fate, ah well

I would never steal anything from anyone, no matter what that newspaper interview I gave about giant diamonds might say! I'm perfectly innocent, how dare you impugn my honor with such accusations

Yeah! It's called "Dramatic License!" We just coincidentally write about the same kind of robbery later!

They...go completely insane. (Sorry to upstage my own creation but that answer was just too tempting to ignore...what are the odds Darkness, a Dark-Carapaced Crustacean and Love are so perfectly linked?
...I have No Comment on the alleged Bazaar cameo at the end. Big Grin )
