I feel a bit dumb, but I can't seem to find the next storylet to continue my shadowy activities after reaching a name whispered in darkness 4

I just reached that too. Did you manage to get Master Thief to 5 using the various theft options in Flit? I am currently doing that and afterwards I think the next step is doing a Heist through a storylet, followed by Wars of Illusion.

I just reached that too. Did you manage to get Master Thief to 5 using the various theft options in Flit? I am currently doing that and afterwards I think the next step is doing a Heist through a storylet, followed by Wars of Illusion.
The only specialized option that I can find the area diving section.

Oh, that's still in Spite, move to Flit and prepare for the big score building up casing to unlock the various theft options.

Does anyone know if Big Scores and Heists will still be available if I admit to being involved in the Wars of Illusion? I love that content (and am intrigued by the idea of a Heist in Concorde Square, which I don't recall doing) but don't want to have to redo Mahogany Hall later to get back to where I am in the Wars.

I've run into the rather more inconvenient problem that upon clicking Thefts of a Particular Character, I'm taken... absolutely nowhere. Just a blank page with no title or text, only onwards and try again as options. This is rather inconvenient, as it gets me right in the middle of my grinding for Bazaar Permits. Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks-- I'd run into the same problem. It wasn't at all clear where to go after that section, and since I've had the Flit open for approximately forever, I'd dismissed those options as the same old things and had been looking for a new or marked storylet somewhere. I don't know if it'll be less of a logical leap for new players going through it...
Also, I've been using Thefts of a Particular Character with no issues, so it's not everyone.

So, I just clicked on the Mahogany Hall option, but when I nominated myself as my preferred "criminal luminary", 'A Name Whispered in Darkness' got set to 7 - The Flit is hiding a secret. Investigate its cats, bats, and couriers to uncover it!
Anyone else get something like this?
Am I going to have to submit a bug report?
ETA: Did anyone else have as difficult a time with the penny-dreadful options as I am having? Having ruled out "a grim tale of knives and tears", I can't decide between the other three.

No problem, I feel it can be a little confusing to new players as well. It was easier for me since I was used to thefts in Flit (as opposed to a player who never did it before) and figured that would contribute to unlocking more options. The Master Thief quality (which I had at 2 prior to the tracker implemented) also states new stories are unlocked when it is at 5, which I assume will mean how one moves from 4 to 5 in Whispered in Darkness.
As you mentioned, there's something that grabs one's attention when you see a marked storylet to guide making the name progress. It can be quite surprising to see it's gone when going to Flit for activities for the first time. Perhaps when completing 'A Lofty Invitation', it could help to see a Bronze storylet in Flit hinting to doing thefts to make their name. However, it might be intentional to not hand hold the player too much and let them try a theft out and gain the Master Thief quality to see the next hint of raising that to 5 for more stories, such as the heist. Still, I am glad you have it sorted out and I hope Koenig has it sorted out as well.

I'm not sure if this is part of the update but I like how I am able to skip certain unsightly things (like sabotaging the Glass/Shroud faction) if the story doesn't need me to be. These options make FL a bit more role-play friendly in my opinion.

At first I was kinda disappointed that I couldn't rob the Brass Embassy anymore (Master Thief too low), but then I realized that it actually makes more sense now. After all, which greenhorn thief would *begin* with that heist? I'll give this update a solid 8/10.
