Major Laterlas? Identify with the School Of...

I have already chosen what school I identify with for three of the four stats (School of the Celestials, The Implacable Methos, and the Presbetatian Correspondence Course), but I don't really see what it does. Maybe it is because it is too early or because I still need one more, but I have not had any oppertunity cards or Storylets related to them besides the ones where I can change them.
Can anyone tell me what their purpose is?

Can anyone tell me what their purpose is? As far as I know, they mainly serve to define your character. Future storylets and cards may use these qualities but those checks will probably be flavor options instead of progress-blocking options.
