The game says that at higher levels it will start taking away things such as notability, I am currently A Wretched Recidivist should I be worried about losing notability yet?

I don't think so, I believe you do lose echoes and rostygold at this level, though, along with suspicion increase. I don't know the notability loss level, but it's higher than 5. it might be as low as six, though.
