Delicious friends!

You are now able to create Outfits in Fallen London!

On the Myself tab, you'll find you are now wearing one of four outfit types: Morning, Evening, Hard Wearing and Incognito.

You can equip different items to each outfit. Any substitutions you make to individual items will be applied to the outfit you’re currently wearing.

Changing your outfit from the drop-down menu will switch you from one to another.

This is an initial version of this functionality, so we’re interested to receive your feedback!

Enjoy!

Working great, thanks a lot! It'll be quite useful.

However, would it be possible to get a 5th outfit type? (Persuasive, Watchful, Dangerous, Shadowy, and BDR)
It could be called "Sunday's clothes" or something!

I find that pretty unintuitive and likely to lead to confusion; could we please have a "save" button?

Social Actions: send them to Kade Carrion (she/her; no Tournament of Lilies, please). an_ocelot has gone NORTH and cannot benefit from social actions!

Possibly-Useful Things: Spreadsheets and hints and link collections, oh my.

I've been puzzling over this - I didn't realise that Call of Duty required its players to dress for dinner. Then I remembered its eveningwear-centred spin-off series, Call of Duty: Black Tie, and everything made sense.

I've long lobbied for Call of Duty to change from a boring first person shooter into am exciting, fast paced Edwardian era etiquette simulator.
I was out voted eleventy billion to one.

Thank you for this. I have wished for something like it for ages and ages.

I think it would be even better (and more intuitive) if:
    • there was a "save" button, so that I wouldn't accidentally change the settings on an outfit
    • we could name the outfits whatever we wanted: the current list makes sense to you but maybe less to me
    • we had a couple of additional outfits that we could customize, such as one designed to max out BDR, and one designed to lower our stats
    • we had a "none" option. Sometimes I need to put together an unexpected collection of items (such as during Hallowmas, to get a particular combination of qualities), but that doesn't need to be a longer-standing outfit. (Did that make sense?)

Even if you don't do these specific things, please please please don't take away the "outfits" feature: something is better than nothing, and I really am delighted to see the feature.

I can't but imagine Respectable, Dreaded and Bizarre outfits being called Sunday Best, Sunday Worst and Sunday What?

Anyhoo, super-cool feature! Amazing to see such a popular fan-mod project become part of the core game! In practical terms, being able to switch items without altering a saved outfit would indeed be nice - keep one's stat-boosting outfits up one's sleeve, so to speak, while wearing something more middle-of-the-road or tailored for some other purpose.

Fantastic! No more poking hopelessly at the iPhone screen hoping that -this- time the item will equip properly!

Great!. Thank you! This will save a lot of time.
I agree that it will be even better if we have a fifth outfit for BDR.

    Kit Foxtrick, exactly.

First, select the name of the outfit you want to set. Then equip whatever you want for that outfit. It auto-saves whenever you make a change. Any changes you make will therefore be reflected in that outfit, UNLESS you switch outfits first.

Like I said, confusing. I'd much rather it only save when I ask it to--I'd like to set four stat-maxing outfits and then be able to modify what I'm wearing without changing the saved outfit (like now, at Hallowmas, I need menace-maxing items, so when Hallowmas is over, I'll have to fix the main outfit to be stat-maxing again).

This is a huge time saver; especially on mobile devices where you have to click equipment more than once for it to actually equip. As an initial implementation, it's great. I agree that while I figured out how things actually work pretty quickly my first thought was to look for a "save" button although I don't have strong feelings on the difference. Some things I'd love to see in the future:

    1) The ability to create custom outfits with their own name rather than having just the hard coded 4.

    2) The ability to change outfits from the main screen. The myself tab can be slow to load on slow server days or on a slow connection.

That's exactly what I'm missing, too. Overall I'm very pleased with this new feature, but four outfits simply aren't enough: as a stat-maxed player, I don't usually dress Persuasive-only or Shadowy-only, but use a nicely balanced mix to give all four stats a boost. So, add a Default Everyday outfit plus one for BDR, and this will be perfect! smile

Awesome feature! Does need a save button though, as specified by many of the others before me. The current implementation is a little unintuitive.

When I discovered this, I had a curious time playing with it. Much to my dismay changing the selection did nothing at all... Until I discovered I had to click outside the box before it took effect. Finicky touchscreen devices are like that, you know.

I'm still not sure whether to assign watchful to evening and persuasive to morning or vice-versa.

More outfit options would be nice. Along with the regular stats and BDR, I like to have a generic "this improves everything!" getup. Maybe an ability to add/name our own outfits would be doable?

Morning's for business, evening's for pleasure. So, I'd say Watchful and Persuasive, respectively.

While I agree that the names thematically suggest maximizing each of your stats, I'd like to point out that for most POSI, or at least end game players, there is never call for maximizing Dangerous, so that's one slot open for BDR, or as your casual "switch things around as needed" slot.

There certainly is a call for it if you have The Listing Tower: Intrigue in a Half-Abandoned Mansion and a A Proud Parade of Victories.

I too would like to mirror what others have said; a few more outfits would be wonderful, a save button could help and being able to name the outfits yourself would be even better. But I do realise that is quite a bit more work.

I'd definitely like another slot for a max BDR outfit, even if getting another point of Notability is a somewhat rarer occurrence for me than encountering stat challenges that require equipment for 100% success. A save button would also be awesome.

By which I mean I still haven't figured out how to do it.
For me, and probably for everyone else, the default loadout was "Morning", so when I switched to anything else it removed all my equipped items except my ship, spouse and club. Which allowed me to set the items for the loadout I had selected. Perhaps it is unintuitive, but it doesn't seem particularly complicated to learn.

Great feature, thank you! Of course, if it were to suit all my needs, it would need: the four existing ones, Max BDR, Max Respectable, Max Bizarre, Max Dreaded, and 'other'. I know - some people are never happy.
