Seriously though, who is he/she and why do they get two landmarks named after them? I hunger for knowledge.

I'm guessing he or she was a seafarer, since the two "landmarks" are both chasms/rifts. Considering the harshness of the Unterzee, I'm betting one of the two areas is where his or her ship (and likely all hands) was lost.
There is a rumor that certain/all zee openings lije these are inter-connected somehow; we'll have to wait and see with the expansion.
But besides game speculation, absolutely no info was released in-game, by the developers, or even exists historically in real life with that name. edited by the truthseeker on 10/19/2015

They were a backer on the Sunless Sea Kickstarter, not sure what level but definitely high enough to get a place (or two!) named after them in game.

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

He/she is a Chinese web designer/publisher. Easy enough to find
