So, if you can make your way to the surface, presumably, you could catch some daylight in your Mirrorcatch Box. But i wouldn't recommend it. As someone who did exactly this (but was unable to catch any light while there with the box), I can say that 100% it was very unwise
That is to say I totally took one of the 100 into the light* haha. edited by NiteBrite on 10/7/2015

Back in 2013, Mirrorcatch Boxes were first introduced by way of a very limited-use access code hidden behind a small puzzle (only 100 were given out). Because of the rarity, there was also added a method of theft -- if you were an Iron League Knife-and-Candle player, you could, at great expense, steal Mirrorcatch Boxes from anyone in London (even if they weren't themselves playing K&C).
As of September's Exceptional Story they are much, much easier to find and the theft of boxes has been limited to only other Iron League players, so that warning is now an artifact of a previous time. (There was a second reason for this limitation, involving intrigues going all the way up to a Master of the Bazaar, but it's rather sordid business.)
