I've been playing Fallen London close to daily for over a year and this is the first time I can recall being completely unable to do anything for a significant period of time. I've definitely had times when the site was being a bit slower than normal, but this is to my knowledge very unusual.

It is running much faster than it was yesterday, however it is still running slowly by comparison to normal operations.

Perhaps. I suspect attempting to tally the actions missed out on by those who couldn't log in at certain times vs those who were able to log in to varying degrees would make an exact recompense fit neatly in the 'too hard' pile.
I don't expect to be reimbursed actions if I sleep for 9 hours as opposed to 7 hours, and accepting that you'll lose some actions is a thing that happens. (You'll progress, trust me on this, even if it means you don't have your very own Overgoat / Firkin of Hesperidean Cider today. :-p Fallen London isn't a race - and if you rush ahead you'll likely miss moments meant to be savoured - so don't fret; you'll get there soon enough. ^_^ )
