My Inspired was well past 5 but not high enough where I felt comfortable risking my progress by actually attempting the challenge. I went back to the Shuttered Palace today to work on it some more and it's gone. The entire storylet has completely disappeared. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know what causes it and if there's a way to get it back? I did a lot of grinding to get my Inspired to where it was and I'd be pretty disappointed to lose it all. Could one of my actions elsewhere in the game have affected this storylet? Or do you think it's just some random bug I should report?

Did your Persuasive rise past 92? Or did your A Name Signed with a Flourish quality go up to 6? Both of those would lock the commission. You may need some of those Persuasive-lowering items that boost other stats as well...

No, my Persuasive is only at 72 and my Name Signed with Flourish is only at 2. Looking at the wiki, it seems like I shouldn't have been able to even attempt the challenge, and yet it was available to me for almost an entire week. Maybe THAT was actually the glitch, and now the game has finally corrected it. Still kinda disappointing, given how much work I put into it.

By any chance, did you work on your Make your Name: Publish your Story storyline to advance your A Name Signed with a Flourish quality after you started working on your royal commission?
I recall that before I could write a short story for that storyline, it wiped out all the Inspired quality of a Symphony I was working on before then for the Shuttered Palace. This could be what happened to you.

No, I didn't work on any other commissions or grind anything that involved my Name Signed With Flourish quality. Even if I had used up my Inspiration quality on another challenge, the royal portrait commission would still be there, wouldn't it? I'd just have to start over.
But it's not even an option anymore. It's like it just vanished from the Shuttered Palace altogether. So strange...

You need a Name Signed with a Flourish 4 or 5 to see the Commission: A Royal Portrait. It looks like you went to an earlier place on the persuasive tracker as your Name Signed With a Flourish is at 2. I'm not sure which step you need to take next - either Romance the Heiress or Poet or Write a 40 potential short story.

Well, getting my Name Sighed With Flourish up did unlock the challenge again, but sadly, all my progress has been lost. Such a shame.
I wonder how I was able to access it prematurely like that.

You probably had the story before the Persuasive tracker began as it used to be based on stats. Sorry you lost all your progress though and I hope you enjoy your painting.
