You are invited to the Fruits of the Zee Festival, a smorgasbord of quaint rural traditions, frolicsome locals and rubbery lumps.
Leave a wish at the well. Dance with a Drownie. Hire a fishing boat, land a Strange Catch and trade it at the festival for special rewards!
Secure an invitation to a secret feast and catch a glimpse of your future. Will it be a vision of victory or a dream of darkness?
Catch a ferry from Wolfstack Docks to Mutton Island to join the festivities!
The Fruits of the Zee Festival is open to all players, no matter your level. You don’t need a boat, and if you don't know the way to Wolfstack Docks, there's a helpful urchin at your lodgings who will be happy to show you for a reasonable price.

So after a really terrible week where I lost my soul, got stabbed to death by assassins, and found a sanity-destroying eyeless skull all in the same day, I've managed to get all of the Cove weapons collected in a relatively painless amount of time, had my fill of delicious seafood and well-induced whispers of madness, and am heading home to London.

You should have said something like "Maybe level 12 is Mr Eaten! Paramount Presence!" and then people would have burnt down their home to do it.

Festival lasts two weeks, which should be enough for everyone to get the loot that they have their eye on from the hooded lady. High catch is best if you want the highest value unique item: Pre-emptive Guinea Pig - 7 Dangerous, 6 Watchful, very nice for many people.
Other items: Mutersalt 2 shadowy 3 dangerous -1 watchful Consignment of Scitillak Snuff 5 dangerous 3 persuasive -1 shadowy Bloodstained Eolith 5 watchful 4 dangerous -1 persuasive 'For your own good' Compass 6 watchful 4 shadowy -1 dangerous
note: they're all weapons, even the guinea pig)

You can change it, but you have to pay in Fate. And the price is quite hefty. Choose wisely.

Yasssss, I got the guinea pig! Finally something more Dangerous than my Ravenglass Knife. I can also confirm that you get this lovely furry fella at Strange Catch 7. Now, to get the Eolith and the Salt...
Also: the Hooded Lady offers non-equipment rewards for Strange Catches. Can anyone tell if they're worth the trouble? edited by Kolanowski on 8/21/2015 edited by Kolanowski on 8/21/2015

I'm on my way from Polythreme (the Festival took me by surprise) to London (to collect my professional reward) and then to Mutton Island. Everybody mentions gold. How much should I stock while in London? And is there anything else I should take from home to make it a good Festival?
Each fishing trip takes 10 Rostygold then you trade in your catch for a reward or to reduce your menaces. There is an airs mechanic that gives different options at the Festival so it can take a number of fishing trips to get all the rewards you want, especially as cycling through the options waiting for the Lady to take you to the Cove to get the major rewards can take a long time and raise those menaces.

I got the guinea pig! He's such an adorable projectile. If you guys put Pigmote island as a location he should be able to be used as something for the guinea pigs.

After you get all the special items you can either stay if you enjoy the atmosphere or go back to London if you're bored. Personally I'm just enjoying the holiday while it's here, even if it would technically be more beneficial to just head back into London to pursue my regular goals.

One thing that has tripped some people is going over there without any rostygold. You only need a few hundred.
Only other tip I can give is to be patient. Very patient.

For what it's worth, I started the festival with full candles the moment it was live across four characters, and didn't encounter the hooded lady once -- not even on my double-candled character. When I returned today (within the last hour), all four of my characters encountered her pretty quickly.
EDIT: Twice, on the two that I tried to get her twice with so far. It's definitely the rarest catch cash-in event by a significant degree, but doable.
Of course I met her almost right after I wrote that post. Fortune is a silly thing.
Also: ah, so THAT'S how you get those nifty Destinies!

In case anyone's wondering, the Quirk challenges in fishing work the same as last year, but don't reduce quirks anymore. They do appear to increase them (up to 5) on failure, however! It's a quirker's paradise. (Where everything's straightforward if all your quirks are over 6.)

While you are at the Festival you will get the opportunity to trade your Strange Catch to reduce your Nightmares or Wounds ... and get some items as well.

I hope you enjoy the Festival. I'm not sure if you can be sent to a menace area from the Festival, as normally when you are at Zea you aren't. Also if you play through the regular Mutton Island content (a time passing carousel attending the Great Feast at the end reduces Wounds and Nightmares.

Incidentally, for anyone who a) has all the unique items, b) loves grinding, c) does not get frustrated by RNG and d) is driven to seek out every last bit of lore, here is a challenge:
Strange Catch has a nice description for each level. The Wiki documents 11 levels. Mathematically, it's possible to have at most 12 levels. To get the last level you need *every single* turn of Fishing to have the option to Find an isolated cove.

Even with re-using a strange catch as bait to retain half your running battle?

Ah~! Kelly is new around the place and just took a ship to the island. Will Kelly get stuck there when the festival ends?
I believe that you will be able to arrange transport home. The festival is open to non-POSIs, and so people who do not have a method for crossing the zea. I don't think that FB would be quite so cruel as to leave them stranded there until the next festival.

Speaking of the benefits of being on Mutton Island, am I right in thinking that the Chef is the most efficient source of Uncanny Incanabula? Unlike Benthic's Press, he doesn't require 4 actions' worth of connection every time.
If you need Uncanny Incunabulum and don't need Making Waves, yes - you don't get anything else in exchange for not paying Benthic.

Happy afternoon to you all, my good gentlemen, gentlewomen, and gentleothers. After an enjoyable but, occasionally, baffling time at last year's Fruits of the Zee Festival, I've often found my thoughts turning towards a certain furry, armored little fellow. I was unable to make his acquaintence last year and was greatly hoping to do so this, but I am once again finding it nigh-impossible to fulfill the neccesary requirements to do so. Am I missing out on an obvious way to raise my Running Battle over 8 and subsequently trade my Strange Catch for him, or have I just besotted myself with too much cheap mushroom wine?

I know that it says on some options that the results scale to your stats but I find them very random. I quite like 'Oi! You stepped on my invisible rat!' the 2.5 echo rare result turns up often enough and the range on the other items means that most of the time the echo value compares favourably to London actions.
If you have a strange catch and have got all the weapons from the Wreckers Cove I would use "Follow them to the Well" unless you need to give it to the Chef or Curate to manage your menaces.

Hey, the non-equipment rewards from the Wreckers Cove aren't that bad. The festival is an easy way to acquire some stuff that would take a bit of grinding otherwise.

I got Cove 9, and none of the rewards seem particularly worth the effort required. The options might be worth playing just for the story, but you're not going to get anything rare or valuable outside the unique equipment.
