Esteemed fellow captains (and honoured FB staff passing by),

Much as I yearn to read and play the latest batch of New Stories that was released, it seems I cannot! When I click "New Stories Available", and attempt to login to my Fallen London account, the game just won't let me type in my password. The whole password area: unclickable. And un-tabbable (should that be a word?).

Has anyone here encountered this issue before? Is there a way around it?

Thank you in advance! smile

Have you composed an email to Support@failbettergames.com or gone here and submitted a report?
Technically, there are ways to override/force update fields clearing them out, then restoring them to default, but it's best Failbetter go over why you cannot enter the info and have you properly log your FL account to the game. Make sure you have all your SS purchased account info (Steam, Standalone or both game types on your system included in the report,) plus if you could ever link your FL account or not to see what was and was not previously linked and updated.

When they have more suggestions to offer, they should email you with your provided email address.

I can't access the new stories either, but my problem is I can't ever finish downloading them.

Again, contact Failbetter as per my earlier reply above. Support is not likely to find this thread buried on a non-tech location. Best to let them know directly where they do read to fix these things.

Hello and thank you for answering!

Yes, I have, just before I registered for these forums. smile I am well aware bug reports are best addressed to, well, the actual bug report service. (To my amazement, I got a reply this very morning! Such efficiency. I love Failbetter Games a little more every day.)

I was just hoping people around here might have encountered this issue before and/or have tips to go around it. Which leads me to the most interesting part of your answer--

(Sorry, didn't show an update notification on this)

No smile (it's a link)

(And if you don't put it back to "false" when done, it's your own fault if it drives you nuts. And it may have unintended consequences regarding conflicts to other checks, which is why I suggested waiting for their support to walk you through the options first.)
