I'm in the part of Heart's desire that requires you to farm for First City coins. I know about the madness method but I don't wanna lose my recurring dreams. I'm currently robbing An anonymous wretch for Bundles of Oddities hoping for Something warm in order to trade that with the Rubbery Men for First City coins. I'm getting Connected: Rubbery Men through the carnival. I'm wondering if anyone has a more reliable method of farming Warm Amber?
Alternatively, is there a cheaper way of getting First City coins? I have enough Cryptic Clues for 1 theft from the Museum of Mistakes but I don't know anyone with high enough stats for it. The Numismatrix costs 6.66 for each coin, which is extremely steep from the Bazaar, and I don't think I can farm them at my stats (W30,S33,D34,P37). Thanks for the advice.

I can't really help with farming, but I've got a stash of 30 coins I'm not using if you want them. Can you post a link to your profile?

If you have at least 1 connected to the Masters then you can get 50 coins.

Seno, unfortunately I don't have any connected to the masters. I just got A libraryette for Mr Pages but I don't have anywhere near 10,000 proscribed materials.

Mark, thanks a ton. I only need 11 more coins now, which isn't so terrible in terms of farming for Warm Amber.
On the bright side, I'm building up a lot of honey.

Off topic, I suppose, but has anyone looked into starting a Fallen London bank? I'd happily loan someone 300 coins today for 330 coins next month. Or 30 coins a week for 11 weeks...
I'd think it could be a worthwhile investment for things like equipment. No real way to enforce people paying you back though...

Hnng... an issue with this is that most people who're seeking First City coins are Marvellers, trying to scrape together their deposits to go through the storyline. First City coins are a pain to collect (my wardrobe-drawerfull of spares is there because of gradual, unintentional accumulation over time from things like the Portly Sommelier) and they're not the best method of acquiring money for either player. 10 actions to send them coins for a profit of 30 x 0.25 = 7.50 so 0.75 EPA, and the receiver shouldn't really want more than the amount they need for Heart's Desire. Ultimately, I'm content to just give them away for others' convenience.

There's an option in Spite, if your Shadowy isn't too high, to assist the Fisher Kings, which gives you a Bundle of Oddities on each success. Warm Amber is available within its range.
