Rubbery Souls has a distinct quality that are repulsive to Hell.

The Devils and their aversion for things Rubbery - this is a mystery I have been unable to plumb. But yet, I think it certain that they do have souls. They have a form of love, do they not? A strange love, grotesque even, but love nonetheless - there have even been a few scandalous cases of humans marrying Rubbery spouses! How could one who lacks a soul truly love?

Whether it is our soul that is used for loving is a tricky and somewhat philosophic question. I wouldn't use inter-spieces marriages as an example to prove that parties have souls. And who knows what functional equivalent do these nice creatures have for a soul? Devils do as Estelle points out. And for some reason they are repulsed by it. I wonder why.
Whatever you might speak of devils - the beasts know a thing or two about soul quality after all. Are their souls too ugly? Too beatifull? Too rubbery? I don't know. But I'm prone to believe a professional in such things. Learned one more reason not to marry an octopod. Thank you, devils. Thank you, this thread.

I do! As one who has had assignations of varying degrees of impropriety with members of Court, bohemians, the clergy, spies, criminals, devils, tomb-colonists, Drownies, and, in one instance, an arachnologist with a penchant for role-play, I have added the Rubbery to my list of potential squeezes. Must keep the universe in balance.

There's also the case of a Deviless boinking a Rubbery Man. It is just their soul that Hell generally doesn't like.
And you, too, can make your soul equally undesirable for Hell with Fate. 100 Fate, to be precise.

I can only recommend a visit to Flute Street to anyone wishing to learn more about these fascinating creatures, it is well worth the cost of the expedition. It does not, however, answer the question as to whether rubbery men have souls.

The lads (?) follow me about frequently and I've little idea why. I've not shown any interest in pursuing relations, but the way they wave those little face-tentacles is sort of endearing. Plus, they look adorable in hats.

I suppose it might be nice to bring this back now that we've had a wee bit of Rubbery interaction added recently.

The devils don't take much interest in those from the presyberate either. Perhaps they prize surface souls?

Er, I very vaguely suspect that they don't have souls...... Just speculation, based on very distant common ancestry with things that don't.

(speculation) I think they do have souls but they're too stained by the Zee's impossible colors to be of infernal use.

Unless I'm mistaken, the rubbery men
are not native to the zee, but are actually space aliens from Axile.
