As of a few days ago, the Iron Republic won't increase your Hedonist past 10, but it will get your Austere to 15. Speaking from experience.

Speaking of the Iron Republic, does anyone have the foggiest idea as to how much the Hardened and Softened fate options at the end have been capped and how much cp they'll reward you with? If push comes to shove I may have to utilize the Softened option for Hedonism if no other route for raising it pops up, but I'd prefer to keep that as a last resort.

I've got an alt in the Iron Republic at the moment so I will see what happens for Hardened and Softened. Only problem being that they have most of their quirks at 10 already.
Can someone tell me if becoming a Scarlet Saint consumes the quirks and connections? That alt still has enough Hedonist/Austere to do so and it might be worth doing before the Fruits of the Zea Festival.

Any word yet on whether or not systematically acquiring and snubbing the Closest To: Bohemians quality is a viable option to raise hedonism past 10? As soon as I leave the Iron Republic after raising my current haul of Austere 13 (as well as Wounds 16) to Austere 15 I plan on trying it out myself.

No idea, sorry. Although it's worth observing that snubbing the Bohemians will cost you Hedonist, so this will only work if the benefit is greater then the price...

Finally tried the Fate locked Iron Republic Hardened option on the above mentioned alt
[spoiler] I had 3 of the quirks at 10 - so "... hasn't changed, because it is higher than 9" The one I had at 7 increased to 8. Though I can't say how many cps ... if I was at just 7 and no cps and went to 8 and 7 cps it could be up to 14 cps but it was probably fewer.
So it looks like even if your quirks are at 9 you will only be able to get them to 10. Though it might be worth somebody who has their quirks just below 10 giving it a go to see if the option does give more than 10 cps. [/spoiler]

Well to be honest I wasn't expecting anything for those quirks at 10 but was hoping for slightly more on the other one. [spoiler] Which might have made it worthwhile for someone whose quirks were at 9.[/spoiler]

The "tawdry secrets of the famous laid bare" edition of the newspaper now increases Heartless rather than Hedonist, and decreases Austere. Cap on heartless... I'll report back about that ASAP [edit: Heartless cap is 10, seems to be the standard quirk cap for 104-copy newspaper editions]

To be fair, that's a good change. In that edition of the paper, you're essentially The Daily Mail; what with the bat hacking and all.
Choosing to publish personal details for profit is a much more heartless pursuit than a hedonistic one.

And my Alt is now a Scarlet Saint. I'm just pleased that they still had enough Hedonist to become one and do hope that there will be ways for other players to raise theirs high enough.

So in summary, beginning with hedonist and austere at or below 10, the only way to boost your quirks to 12 is to first
1. Run through the court romance storyline 4 times (or more?)
2. Head to the iron republic loop?
That's something like a week of actions just for the hedonist (with exceptional friendship and 100% action usage)

Other possible sources of 10+ Hedonist: becoming Closest to Bohemians (depending on school), sleeping with the Provost of Summerset (only if you haven't progressed at all in the University plot)

I'm working on the Bohemians, but I'm a Celestial, so I need to get a Primeval Hint. So I figured I might as well become a Correspondent (since their payment includes Antique Mysteries, and I wanted to anyway), and I'm still grinding my notability and SotC. I should be able to update in another 1-3 weeks on whether this works or not, assuming somebody else doesn't post first.

If your school doesn't pay out or if it is too expensive, you can switch schools in the singing mandrake I believe.

Just tried the Celestial option with the Bohemians. To my disappointment, the option didn't raise my Hedonist above 10. I've yet to try any other options but the Mycologene, which offered no benefit either.
