That looks nice, though the eye and nails of the old one made her look more unique.

I don't like the new confident smile, looks too much like simple photoshop and I prefer the ones that look hand sketched, but some of the other new ones look nice..

I have to agree, the Confident Smile isn't too great. I was surprised that the Anticandle got a new icon

Seconding that, the eye seems too wide and round. This time the updates are pretty notable though and looks even nicer!

A surfeit of images! Think my favourite is the new rats image, or the new Great Game pawn:
   
Curiously, chapposh has not been updated. Some of the images are a little harder to immediately grasp at a small size, too.

I don't really like the new storm threnody and Stolen Kiss Icons, they just look... weird. But I like the new Bazaar Image. Also is it just me or is the Hat in the Icon for Spies (The guy with the holes in the Newspapers) look really oversized?

Hi everyone, Paul here. Thanks for all the feedback, it's extremely useful, keep it coming! More changes are on the way, including new ambition icons and a general balancing of which image is used for what. With a game the size of Fallen London, it's sometimes hard to predict how a given icon will behave across the various storylets it appears in, so I'm keeping an eye on this thread for anything that takes people aback. Thanks also for the encouragement and kind words, it means a lot.

I'd like to chime in that I miss the colour of the old Stolen Kiss image, and feel the new Confident Smile icon is a bit too attention-grabbing to be sitting on the side of every screen.
I simply love the new Myrrh-Scented Roses and legal document icons, though.

I like most of the new art, but I hace to say the new prisoner's honey looks a bit odd (but still tastes delightful) Also:

The stolen kiss looks sort of sickly to me. It's also the icon for my memento of passion and I feel it is misleadingly tame representation of that scandalous day.
Aside from that and the confident smile, I think most of the new art is nice and some is very lovely. I particularly like the bazaar.

Some of these seem a bit too detailed. The simplistic design of a lot of the older cards is what gave them their charm.

I have to agree that Stolen Kiss/Memento of Passion could probably use a little brightening. Even if this is London.
However I disagree that the simple style was better; even without the consideration that it's now more consistent with other newer art and Sunless Sea, I think the new versions are more evocative. And less confusing, in some cases. I was never clear on why the Duchess appeared to be eating a live rat -- she certainly doesn't seem Northridden.
Also, some feedback on the CMS side rather than the art: It would be nice if the lodgings cards could make use of the actual housing art, especially seeing as we have that new Bazaar card already running around with the Premises art.

I dislike the confident smile as many here, and I find the letter a bit.. weird. But I love the rest of the art! Especially the last ones!

Mm, there's one particular card that I'd dispute that for - I always thought the art for foliage was fairly new ever since I first noticed it in sunless sea, where I found the impression of light filtering through leaves really effective (though. unsuitable for the Neath). The new art is lovely but more ordered/stylized, which sits a little oddly with some storylets it was used in, like 'Tame the undergrowth'. Also, the Crimson book has lost some of its menace along with its neon skyward laser bc the glow of the contents in boxred is so much more muted now. But I do enjoy the rest of these new changes - how Storm-threnodies look like they're reflecting the Aeolian screams next to them, the detail on echoes, and the uniform stack of all the legal documents, bazaar permits/leases, infernal contracts, and personal recommendations.(chipping in to say I'd also love to see the gorgeous lodging cards in the deck.)

First, loving the new art. Second, even though I refreshed my cache multiple times on different browsers, the gorgeous new Duchess image isn't showing for me. Is this especially for people who have angered her in the past, or has it somehow not updated across-the-board yet?
