What are the best/most interesting ways to invite someone to play FL? The Wiki is does not seems to have a lot of information on this and generally doesn't differentiate social actions that invite new players and social actions with existing players.

"An opportunity for business" from "Wanted: Reminder of Brighter days" seems to give both the inviter and the invitee a small amount of resources, which is better than nothing but not super exciting. The most interesting alternative I seem to have come across is "Unravelling a Coded Message" from "Intercept another courier" at The Alleys of Spit, which actually has a mini story behind it and can even increase Connected: Masters.

Any other suggestions?

At your lodgings you can also invite people when doing something rather shadowy, intellectual, or dangerous. From what I can tell they give each of you the respective second chance item and a large boost to that stat, yet I can not confirm because as of yet I've not performed that action.

No, they don't give you second chances. None of them do - instead, they are all luck checks where failures don't actually send an invitation.

The best invitation is the one you get at the Lofty Towers / Bazaar lodgings card, where you can get a Strong-backed Labour if your friends do accept it. Not sure does it work nowadays however.

I currently do not accept any catbox, cider, suppers, calling cards or proteges.
