Next up, we get to see what it costs to raise a goat this side of insane and beyond the control of hell.

Quite impressive... but it will be interesting to see if it's actually USEFUL in some way. It lacks the Watchful and Dreaded/Bizarre boosts of its predecessors, after all, so if it is to have any actual use, it will be through storylets specific to its high Caprine Authority.
Of course, considering the obvious connections to Mr. Eaten - the number seven, most notably, but also the details of its... creation - perhaps it HAS no use? After all, that particular line of investigation is infamous for costing much and giving nothing in return...

With my luck, the heptagoat will turn out to work on noman mechanics and end up melting tomorrow due to an lack of sufficient quantities of impossible theorems :P
Haha I tease, but no I don't think there's more to it really, and it's not really a seeking thing either (acquiring goats is more of a bazaar thing/working within the system isn't a very eaten quality). Honestly, it's surprising how much content the heptagoat has already. Goats have been for sale at the Bazaar for how many years now? It's not exactly high traffic content. Or at least it wasn't (this may change now that it has been -discovered-). There's no real rush to have all the content right here right now this very instant either since only a small group will ever play it over the course of a very long time (we forum goers tend to be fairly hardcore players comparatively). There are other priorities like ambitions and sunless sea to think about :P
But the great thing about Fallen London is that there's always that potential for more. It's a game that grows and changes and has a real life of it's own. Hardly a day goes by without some minor tweak or change. Maybe the heptagoat does nothing now, but the fact that it even exists means it could do something someday. Maybe one day it will be a player at the Marvellous (or a stake, if it allows). Maybe it will tame a Mr Sacks and infiltrate the Bazaar at the deepest levels. Or maybe, just maybe one day it will grow up to be so buff that it headbutts the sixth city back to the surface, saving London from an otherwise crushing end. Who knows what the future holds.
All I know is the heptagoat, like a prodigy, holds great promise and potential for the future. edited by NiteBrite on 4/14/2015

I fully suspect that raising the kid to full goatyness will cost one of each 3200 scrap item.

In awe for this wondrous accomplishment !
I'm really curious to see what the future will bring for the heptagoat - I understand that some people feel underwhelmed by the actual use in terms of game mechanics. But frankly, those who sacrify 8 Ubergoats and a Theorem (and all the money and time dedicated to get them) are clearly on a different level than "getting +X for this attribute".
Even if, I must say, I have the feeling that future steps will allow the owner of the heptagoat to drive its growth (after all it's a baby, the owner must attend to its education!).
I suck at names so I won't dare to give suggestions, but I'd be immensely amused if such a creature of wonder will have a totally common name, like, "Bob"

Well.. Twin Peaks has taught us that Bob would be a very apt name for such an infernal creature!

I was hoping to see it have the Quality "Goats All the Way Down +1"

Congratulations NiteBrite! A fine occasion indeed!
The next time you get a heptagoat, you could name it Mungus. Because it is already a Mungus.

Yes, it's suitably ominous.
All this talk about goat-naming reminded me that I hadn't named my own Ubergoat (which, to be honest, now looks kind of pitiful in comparison to the mighty THE GOAT x14).
After some consideration I decided to call it Goat Unquote. I have reserved Goat d'Azur, Single Transferable Goat and Goat Cuisine for future use.
