Greetings.
I was pursuing the Celebrated Artists Model and was quite surprised to suddenly find myself quite close to betrothal. While that is to be expected eventually, I just didn't think it would be so...quick.
I was curious if this page contained the full list of marriageable NPC's in FL. I was also wondering who might be more interesting than whom. My character is a romantic sort, but as a player of course I'd like the most interesting relationship. I'm open to the idea that might mean NOT marrying.
For now I think I would rather not pursue a player marriage. I know that it would all be in good fun, but it would just feel...weird to me.
Opinions appreciated.

With the Devout Intriguer, another potential spouse you can meet during the events of the Foreign Office, I had hoped for an interesting card concerning her true nature. Spoiler below for those who have not been to the Foreign Office yet.
As a Snuffer, maybe I could have a candlelight dinner with her. I eat the dinner and she eats the candles. Very romantic.
Still, I get to work for her in the Foreign Office and even spy on a very particular Tomb-Colonist (who is not what he appears) on her behalf. I do not know where our relationship stands when I stalk her for Compromising Documents or when she sends my character to seduce an enemy spy however... Perhaps those options should be blocked out or changed after the marriage?

While Fth'oth has captured my heart, he — she? No, probably he — he and I had a very stern talk after an event in Mahogany Hall. I was surprised how perfunctory Fth'othykins' notion of commitment ceremony was; it was like he didn't court me at all. I still hope he'll take me out on one of my Free Evenings, but we'll see. Fth'othybear remains a bit of a mystery; romance isn't his forté. But there's more to him than just one card.

Technically the three for siding with the Teeth are the same ... person
But yeah, considering how often players have asked about marrying the Firebrand, Missionary or the Once-Dashing Smuggler I'm surprised that not more spouses have been added in the past years.

totally unsubtle necro because this thread has some good ideas. even the ones that aren't about murdering some penniless fool, I mean.
Personally, I like the idea about marrying the quiet deviless and have a scandalous open relationship, I really liked courting her and it'd be cool of non-monogamous lifestyles could be (mechanically) represented more than as an infinite loop of flings with the sardonic music hall singer and such.
Also, as marriage is pretty accessible content, this would qualify as fairly reasonable to put development/writing time into, right?

Nope, sadly it's not an option to marry him, only to upgrade his stats.

Oh god, you mean your wife is no more than a pretty vase on your dinning table? That sounds like a really dull and boring marriage.
The Cultured Attachee is not even showing up in the Foreign Office because the storylets only involve the male counterpart. (Would have picked the guy if he didn't look like the tremendously annoying Struggling Artist.)
A pretty vase would be an improvement, given I can take it to Polythreme. edited by Estelle Knoht on 2/28/2015

See all these fancy Fate-locked spouses?
Excluding the Boneless Consort, all of them never speaks to you, not even in the Feast of Exceptional Rose or something. I haven't interacted with my Cultured Attachee for, like, 2 years and running.
You can occasionally interact with the Artist's Model or the Jewel Thief. They each have an opportunity card for you to spend ~romantic time~ with them. edited by Estelle Knoht on 2/28/2015

I'm mostly just disappointed that the Quiet Deviless I've gotten 'intimate' with cannot be married. I mean, it would be an utterly scandalous and extremely questionable affair, and I'd probably have to bribe three vicars and blackmail a bishop just to arrange the ceremony, but that's exactly why it would be so very worthwhile...

I'm still praying to be able to do -something- with my Gentleman of Undisclosed Business. Like helping him out of that suit he hates so much, but marrying would be, uh, nice too. Yes.

I do wish there were more NPC options . . .
It's extremely easy to lock yourself permanently out of two, while three are fate-locked, and I don't currently recall there being any others available? Meanwhile, people have been asking for years for those like the Missionary and Firebrand to be made available, and you lose out on stats and social actions when marrying an NPC anyway . . . it'd be nice to have more choice and more to do for NPCs.
I thought we'd get some at Feast of the Rose, but . . . nope.

There's six Fate-locked ones. The Boneless Consort, three for siding with the Teeth during the Foreign Office extension, and two for siding with the Face.

When I completed the Cave of the Nadir story and gained the Revolutionary Firebrand, it said there would be the option to make him my spouse. Is this currently implemented?

If the Snuffers have genders, they clearly don't map 1:1 to human genders. Or perhaps they are Individuals of Mysterious and Indistinct Gender and those characters who present as only one gender are just that: presenting.

I stand by my statement that, if it required going to SMEN 20 and UP 10 to be allowed to eat that artist and never see him again, I'd do it.

I like the Artist just where he is, in my Opportunity Deck. Half the time Tanith exploits him for an afternoon quickie, the other half she makes a huge public scene and throws a dinner roll at his head, while barely suppressing giggles.
She's a nice person, really! I think he just brings out the worst in her.

It is. I'm sticking with the Cultured Attaché mostly because there aren't any better options at the moment (apart from player marriage, which isn't my thing). I'm hoping he'll get something before other spouses are introduced, otherwise he's probably going to get kicked to the curb.
