Absolutely! I find the "weightless travelling" to be a prominent and positive feature of the game and any change to that would considerably harm my joy at playing Echo Bazaar. That there are "special" locations like the Court or the Foreign Office is not a problem. But the places that are openly accessible now should stay that way!

Cortez the Killer has killed a Master, definitely.
Deepdelver has become the progenitor of London's brightest star. It's... complicated.

Seconded. I always regarded the "travel" button more as a careful planning of next moves (probably over a stained, yellowish map of Fallen London) more than an actual to-and-from run between various places. I usually use up or discard all of my availabel Opportunity cards, then decide what to do of the remaining Actions, and to do that I often Travel here and there before aactually passing to action... I find it useful to be able to take a peek without having to resort to a Wiki.

Thirded, for exactly the same reasons!

Plus, there are a few locations that currently take actions to move to - and that adds some to the mystique of those places. I think they would be somewhat diminished if everywhere cost. Plus my notes and spreadsheets have grown to an almost unmanageable size already; adding in more information or constant wiki visits just to plan my next moves would be frustrating.

By the way, on the topic of actions that should be zero-cost, how about moving between the Labyrinth of Tigers? It's quite bothersome to have to expend an action (and another for a round trip) every time I want to head somewhere else. Also, perhaps the tutorial/reminder storylets such as asking the Bishop of Southwark about how to breed monsters?

A gentleman of numerous descriptors that change far too often. Second chance and menace reduction invites are welcome.

My journey to Seek the Name is recorded for posterity here. I asked "Who is Salt?"

Fallen London is a game of choices. When you make an important one, you can record your rationale here.

I would find having to pay an action to travel to most common areas bothersome. I enjoy my travel (especially after an update) to browse the shops and visit with old friends.

I can see a claim for adding a cost to some areas where there's a special emphasis on them; the Court and Venderblight both have them I believe.

I greatly enjoy meeting delicious new friends and participating in deliciously exciting new adventures! Please feel free to drop a card to meet for dinner, exchange favors, give an interview, or any other activity that comes to mind. I DO particpate in exchanges requiring Fate, BUT you must contact me first; twitter, facebook, or here on the forums via PM.

Note: I am currently exchanging parcels with a large number of dear friends and my parcel opportunities are rare. I am always willing to exchange but your rate of return may be rather slow. To find others to exchange with I recommend the Starveling list.

Inter-coil travel, as it currently stands, can increase your Watchful. They'd have to change that if they wanted to make the travel free. I'm in complete agreement, though, about the tutorial storylets.

I agree with Sir Fred: I would be distressed to have mere looking around at the locations on the map to have action costs.

Fourthed. Not to mention I play on a trackpad and sometimes land in the wrong place because my finger slipped. I'd hate to have that cost me an action.

Adding my voice to the choir: I don't think action costs for travel around the more easily accessible areas of London would add anything to the game. In fact, I think it'd detract, not merely by making the game harder but by making acquiring a new Route feel...cheaper. I know that when I was starting out and the costs and requirements all looked so far away it felt like a major victory whenever I learned a new route.

Rejecting invitations. Apparently there's a limit of those per page, I believe rejecting them costs actions, and I know at least one person in the SomethingAwful Echo Bazaar thread was complaining of people spamming him with six or seven unwanted invitations at a throw. Besides, I can't see why sending a polite (or less-than-polite) note of rejection should take enough time to be a consideration.

Excellent point Sir! I still feel quite a sense of accomplishment when I gain access to a new route!.

And I agree, rejecting should be free. Er when one rejects (not having ever done so on purpose) does the invitee get their action back?

The other person does not get their action back. I've accidentally rejected an action once :/

I've now done it twice, it's actually rather upsetting. But my second time (I think) oddly left me with -1 actions even though I had an action and was aiming to hit accept, was rather confusing. Given the new update today on the home page, I'd actually like a message there if I reject/decline an invitation. I don't ever intend to but that way I'd at least have confirmation that I did it accidentally rather than wondering if I managed to trip over a bug.

Rejecting an invite doesn't actually cost an action. There's a silly bug we will get around to fixing eventually where the candle drops, but hit refresh and you'll see you didn't lose an action.

Some of the rest, folks, you probably want to take to the feedback stuff to make it maximally visible.
