I'm nearly there. Just need a couple of favours in high places. I've got the Blackmail Material and Trade Secret lined up already, but want to get potential up to 140 (the cap for FiHP) before I use those. Not too long hopefully!

Hooray! Classic short story just completed thanks to the second Trade Secret. Now to begin again, write an Exceptional one, and become an author! And this time, to not waste 96 manuscript pages by failing to understand that anything you are left with after the final edit disappears...

Just took the plunge of converting my 260 potential story in to a classic. 78% chance of success and couldn't find any way of increasing past 260. Luckily it was a success! (Making waves from 10 to 17!)
So now that I have a classic short story, what do I do with it? Is it useful for anything other than 180 echoes?

I don't know about case notes but you can use Trade Secrets.

Sure. But Trade Secrets are both valuable and are difficult to come by (you need to wait weeks for each one).
But Case Notes should be always available.

They are? I thought you could only do each case once.
Edit: Yep, they're not repeatable. Case Notes are in much more limited supply than Trade Secrets.

So, is it ever coming to happen? It has been more than two years... I miss the possibility to invite a friend to help me writing. And to be honest, I don't see why would anybody want to buy the typewriter. It is way too costly. I can write rapidly and compose a poetry for the Duchess instead of it and save my echoes and also have Connected: Bohemians more than 20 easily (and have my Persuasive slightly raised too).
