selling your soul

As in the subject: what are exactly the in-game consequences of selling your own soul? I noticed that you cannot enter in Summerset College and that a series of cards and options become available for those who have their own infernal contract, and then?
(on a side note, is it worth spending Fate on the fate-locked option of the "serious offer" card?
Thanks!

Those seeking the Name will not be able to stain a soul they no longer have. This will make the quest for the Name impossible until the soul is retrieved.
It does not unlock new content and the in-game reward is somewhat paltry, consisting of a batch of fruit, but you do get to learn certain things about Abstraction... things that you may know already, if you have been keeping your eyes open, and which is certainly worthless if you're involved in the Soul Trade. It's not really worth it, unless you wish to acquire a few more scraps of knowledge regarding Abstraction.
Only if you lose it through the Seeking Mr Eaten's Name quest.

My journey to Seek the Name is recorded for posterity here. I asked "Who is Salt?"
