By the way just in case anyone was wondering this isn't a one time action, you can repeatedly do either option until the feast ends (I presume tomorrow)
But man the thievery option is fun.

What is the penalty for failure on the thievery option? Any Menace increases?

Listening to the bazaar will get you 1 antique mystery and a hint that the bazaar is alive, wants to be marked and doesn't want to disappoint a "he". Stealing will get a you <3 echo jade and brass loot but if you succeed some diamonds, a bamboozine scrap and a trembling amber (previously fate only)

I'm not sure about failing because I have 100% success chance, but success gets you a load of rare goods that's value adds up to over 30 echoes.

The rewards seem to have changed over time, along with the text. It's given an antique mystery, primeval hint and now a searing enigma.

Result for the "bask in the light" option:
A voice?

All menaces disappeared, I got a substantial Persuasive and Watchful boost, and a Primeval Hint.
