Crikey. Is this the forgotten quarter of the forums? Dont we actuly just have a thread about notability profession?

No cats or investigations of photographers please.
Same goes for Sparring,Loitering,Suppers and Games of chess! Sure I'll accept them occasionaly but I wont help you grind them most of the time.
But calling cards are highly welcome! (Got too much influence for cards at the moment. Sorry!)

Sorry RL means I am not a very active player at the moment. No social actions unless you are prepared to wait and definitely no sparring or other mult-action things.
No Calling Cards or boxed cats please. Will take dupes on the affluent photographers. Other social invitations welcome. Parabolan Kittens usually available, send me an in-game social action saying you want one and I will get one to you as soon as possible.

Besides that, you just need to get lucky with the Townhouse card... there are other avenues of getting MW but they almost all boil down to a change point each. If you still have access to the Empress's Court, there are a few actions there which can reliably boost your Waves.

Thanks for pointing that out... but it's still quite frustrating that, unless I spend 8 Nex/Fate on that storylet, the chances of increasing my Notability are so low compared to the certainty of losing a point each week.

You only need to spend Nex if you want to draw the Amanuensis card with MW less than 15 for some reason, or if you want to force draw the Unsigned Message. I think you can keep the message banked if you have no Notability. Be sure you're looking under "matters of society and scandal" at the bottom of your lodgings, not "Write Letters"

The 15 Making Waves option is under attend to matters of Society and Scandal and doesn't cost Nex/Fate. There is also the option under Write Letters that does cost Fate/Nex but you can also use that option to get an Unsigned Letter when you get 5 Notability to upgrade your profession. That is probably worth the Nex if you might lose Notability before getting a new profession.

Wow guys you just opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me. Thank you! I haven't looked at the Matters of Society and Scandal storylet for a very long time, didn't know that there were so many new options there!

If you hadn't looked at the social actions in your lodgings recently it might be worth mentioning that there is an option on all of them to raise your stats at a cost of second chances.

FYI, the private dinner invitation option there is a reliable way to raise making waves. It appears to raise it by 1-2 CP, depending on the message given (Lucky you or lucky them)
