I was just clicking through some opportunity cards when a familiar looking card about my Bitter Saker Falcon appeared. Not really paying attention to what I was doing, I played the card and only noticed my Bitter Saker Falcon quality had changed as I hit Onwards!
The Falcon has certainly gone from my inventory. Is this permanent? What happened? It's my fault, isn't it?

Lily, If it's the standard opportunity card you get about him (2 branches: Send him hunting, something with the Gracious Widow) I think you just sent him hunting. I believe the title on the card is "Your Bitter Saker Falcon is restless" if that helps.
He does vanish from your inventory, but he comes back after 4? days. Pretty sure it's less than a week, but can't be exact. There will be a message, and a storylet at your lodgings.

That's a pretty cool game mechanic. Is it a random-reward present? I like those the best.

I'm surprised that I don't remember performing this action before... oh, well. Just glad to hear there is no harm done.

When your falcon returns, you'll get a choice of 3 rewards. All three involve a 50/50 chance, but you get a reward either way - the lucky reward's just nicer.

It seems I spoke to soon and all might not be well.
My falcon returned yesterday and I pretty quickly received the card to send him out again.
I did so and got the result below. This is definitely not the normal text (the one below 'Echo This') when sending the falcon out to hunt. I hope this bug doesn't mean we lost our falcons.

I wouldn't be worried about it. All shall be well and all manner of things shall be well. In the case of it not being so well, I'm certain FBG will answer a bug report with a new falcon. Don't worry, though.

Don't worry, your falcon is fine - the text has changed as a result of the Living Stories tech upgrade, is all.
