Folks, relax. The last content will be published on the 6th: but cards you haven't seen will stay available if you already have some of the Twelve Days quality. We've added some notes to the quality description and the announcement to make it clearer. Sorry for the confusion.

Passionario, accusing us of a scam and calling us 'unethical', whether thinly veiled behind sarcasm or not, is offensive. You have a history of trolling both Failbetter and other players on this board. Please observe the posting guidelines and be more courteous in future. For the record, I don't think time-limiting Christmas content to the Twelve Days of Christmas is particularly weird, let alone unethical.

What usually happens is, I lounge around in my enormous office shouting at secretaries, occasionally deigning to tap out a few words with my golden stylus. My extensive editing staff then fixes my erratic typing.

In this case, though, I finished some of the Mr Sacks content on a train over the Christmas break, with an iPad on one knee, a toddler on the other and a spotty Internet connection. Some of the updates apparently failed to take.

Hope that satisfies your curiosity! Next time, do you mind using the typos@failbettergames.com reporting channel rather than the forums?

Something I've noticed after having looked at some spoilers. Aside from the first two (Perhaps intentionally), it's possible to tell who the Mr. Sacks truly is, and offer something they might prefer. Guessing correctly gives you the best rewards.

Day 1: Mr. Spices. He wants Prisoner's Honey.
Day 2: Mr. Wines. Appears to like both wine and music.
Day 3: Mr. Stones. If you can't tell what he likes, you must be blind.
Day 5: Mr. Mirrors. His clue is that he "reflects" dreams. A dream of mirrors is the only one with a reward.

I'm guessing the Mr. Sackses to come may similarly give clues as to their identity, much like Stones and Mirrors. And for someone more perceptive, I think the voices of the first two may have been their clues. Keep an open eye, and all things will be well.

Also... I think Day 5 may be the current boundary. I don't think I've heard people speak of anything further, maybe we can expect a new Sacks each day.

I'm pretty sure Day 5 is actually Mr. Cups. It's not Mr. Mirrors. You only find that out if you take the Benethic option and offer him your ignorance of who he is, and he calls it "not sporting" and "takes himself away" when you took when you could have given.

I've actually considered that. Do we ever see two masters at the same time?

Also, the reason I say it's mirrors is both due to the dreams, as well as how when you ask him to take a dream of mirrors, he calls you a flatterer and a flirt.

So far, siding with the urchins has had the consequence of a nice, if rather cryptic, tidbit of lore from the Mr Sacks in embered red, with a Storm Threnody to boot. Although I have to say, I'd be disappointed to learn I've spent ten Nex for that. Other options would have earned me some Connected : Masters, which is just about as commonplace as daylight in the Unterzee.
Ah, but forgive my foul mood. I shall trust that all shall be well and all manners of things shall be well. Surely, nothing sinister shall fall upon the fifth city.

Same here -- I found it tough to choose between the Orphans-unlocked option that I paid for (and thus didn't want to waste), or telling Mr. Fi...err Mr. Sacks what I think it wanted to hear to increase my Connected. Too bad that fate option didn't give both rewards, because I would have much preferred the latter.

So far, to me, it looks like people who chose to keep their plans to themselves will end up better off.

Why would anyone do that, anyways? Rabble-rousing anarchists that don't know what's good for them, for London and the Empire (in that order). *haughty snif*

But yeah. My life is the same 10-ish opportunity cards. In fact, it feels like each day has a different, but static, set of opportunity cards, because that's the only reason I see why I get the Lofty Tower cards four times out of ten some days, and then not at all for what feels like days on end.

Unfortunately, this pool also seems to contain no Sackses for me at all. >_<

Well, the second one, if you pay the Consonant Violin for Mister Wines you get more Lacre and Connected Masters.

I forgot to Echo the result though, sorry about that.

Oh, and you don't lose the violin! (I was worried about that when I picked it).

Yes it would. Guess the only way to find out is to play it. ^^ The wiki hasn't updated its information for that card yet.

Feel free to update it when you figure out what it does =). For the wikidot wiki, you should only include qualities.

Actually, I'm of the opinion that ALL the masters we were visited by (Minus Silas) were much like the last Mr. Sacks: Composed out of Lacre. However, they took the appearance and personality of a different Master each time. I believe one of the fate locked options has the relevant info on that. In any case, it does raise questions about the Masters themselves...
