Hi, so I just discovered Sunless Sea and I have to say that I love it.
I was also interested in Fallen London, but after playing arond a bit with it I was less enthrilled by it (love the lore though), and was wondering what (besides the whisper locked box) the two games have linked with each other, if it's ok to just enjoy SS without getting in to FL that much, etc.

There are one or two other bonuses you can get by playing FL, but they're not game changing, they just give you a slightly (emphasis on slightly) faster start. Otherwise, it'll mostly give you a deeper understanding of the lore (and there's lots of lovely text). But, if it's not your thing, that's ok too.
