Welp. From what I've been given to understand, icon-swapping like this is a bug that has happened once or twice before, and it's down to the user's browser. There are no plans for photograph icons, and certainly - at least I imagine, I don't know, things are pretty strange here sometimes - no plans to introduce me, dressed as Beethoven for Halloween(mas), into Fallen London.

Since it seems the changes to Bazaar equipment are done for now, here's the comparison.
Items not in the Bazaar in italics.
Carrow's Steel Images: canetasselled, canetasselledred, canetasselledamber, canebling Items: Tasselled Walking-Stick, Tasselled Sword-Cane, Amber-Topped Walking-Stick, Bejewelled Cane

The Bejewelled Cane isn't from the Bazaar, but it's made from a Tasselled Walking-Stick and was updated.
Maywell's Hattery Images: bonnet | ironhat Items: Gay Bonnet | Iron Hat
|
| The Iron Hat has been changed to match the Gentleman's Hat and other hats based on it, which were changed a long time ago.
Dark & Savage Images: fingerless, fingerlessblack | whitegloveblackback, whiteglovepurpleback | blackgloveredback, blackgloveblueback, greenglove Items: Pair of Cutpurse's Mittens, Pair of Cracksman's Mittens | Pair of Magician's Gloves, Pair of Dancemaster's Dabs/Pair of Lady's Lace Gloves | Pair of Knife-and-Candler's Gloves, Pair of Master Thief's Hands, Pair of Spiderchitin Gauntlets
| |
| | The white gloves have only been changed slightly. "blackglove" isn't used for these, but it is used for Hastily Scrawled Warning Notes and Master Thief. It started out the same as these older versions, but had been changed earlier to yet another version and now has been changed again with the rest. ("whiteglove" doesn't even exist.)

Gottery the Outfitter; Dauncey's Images: workclothes, suitshadowy, suitgrey, suitwhite | coatgrey, coatblack, blackcoatblueback Items: Set of Workman's Clothes/Neddy Suit, Outfit of Black Felt Garments/Anarchist's Sable, Ratskin Suit, Sumptuous Dandy's Outfit | Battered Grey Overcoat, Dignified Tailcoat, Night-Trimmed Frock Coat
|
| "suitbloodstain" (Bloodstained Suit), "suitfaded" (Faded Morning Suit), "suitmorning" (Morning Suit), and "blacksuitblueback" (Distinguished Gentleman's Outfit) haven't been changed. The first three already looked more like the new ones than the old, and the last looks like it just hasn't been updated yet.

MERCURY Images: bootsbrown, bootsgrey, bootsred, bootsvake | slipperswhite, slippersblackwhiteback, slippersblackgreyback Items: Pair of Stylish Riding Boots, Pair of Ratskin Boots, Pair of Savage Hob-Nailed Boots, Pair of Vakeskin Boots | Pair of Masterwork Dancing Slippers, Pair of Spidersilk Slippers, Pair of Hushed Spidersilk Slippers/Forgotten Spidersilk Slippers
|
| Unsure on Forgotten Spidersilk Slippers; don't own them yet, just going by wiki. "bootsblack" (Pair of Scuffed Boots/Pair of Squeakless Boots) hasn't been updated yet.
Edit: This should be done now. Unless/until they update some more, such as the Scuffed/Squeakless Boots. edited by Cimanyd on 12/27/2015

I hope this isn't forbidden necromancy by now. (Is there a new "new art" thread I've missed?)
Someone on reddit pointed out that this image, which represents Dr. Orthos (among others), has been updated.

Has anything else changed?

As mentioned in another thread, there's new art for some of the equipment you can find at the Bazaar. Comparing the wiki pages for the Bazaar shops and the actual in-game shops, these are the changes I've found. I can't be certain they're all new changes, but I know most are. The wiki doesn't have the big versions (e.g. Canebling.png) of the old images, so the comparisons are of the small versions (Caneblingsmall.png).
Carrow's Steel: Tasselled Walking-Stick, Tasselled Sword-Cane, Amber-Topped Walking-Stick Not available at Bazaar (but still a walking-stick/cane): Bejewelled Cane Maywell's Hattery: Gay Bonnet, Iron Hat Dark & Savage: Cutpurse's Mittens, Knife-and-Candler's Gloves, Spiderchitin Gauntlets, Master Thief's Hands Gottery the Outfitter: Workman's Clothes, Battered Grey Overcoat, Ratskin Suit MERCURY: Stylish Riding Boots, Savage Hob-Nailed Boots, Ratskin Boots, Vakeskin Boots Dauncey's: Night-Trimmed Frock Coat
EDIT: I've removed the comparison for the time being, since I won't be able to get the old images to display correctly until the wiki has all of them updated.
Here's the big new art in a spoiler:

I've spent entirely too much time on this post...
Edit: This update is even bigger than I thought, and it seems to be still in progress. I'll add the rest when it's done.
Some of the items have had the unused big versions updated, but not the visible small versions. For example, Hushed Spidersilk Slippers (slippersblackgreyback). I've included the big versions in that spoiler anyway.
The white gloves have only been changed slightly. I didn't include them in the spoilered part for now.
Some bigger versions, such as bootsblack.png, don't exist at all, only bootsblacksmall.png, so who knows if those items will be updated. edited by Cimanyd on 12/15/2015

Okay, big thumbs-up for those two changes. The Flit in particular. I used to think that the card for the Flit showed someone entangled in webs.
Only criticism of the butler-type image is that's lost that subtle drinker's nose, which I thought made a nice contrast to his serious demeanour.

The new quirk artwork is great, but it really doesn't fit the art theme of Fallen London at all. Maybe they're supposed to stand out among other qualities, but my eyes still hurt a little every time my quirks change. A darker theme like the Menaces would work great, I think!
Whereas initially when I first saw it, I was like "Why is my Hedonism green?", but after seeing the other quirks were all themed the same I'm rather glad for the change. I like that they stand out with the light green, rather than looking gloomy. At a glance, I can see "Oh, that thing is a Quirk!", without even needing to consider what kind of Quirk it might be or look at the detail in the artwork. The image is meant to be like an icon - and does it's job of being iconic significantly better when it stands apart from the rest. :-)

A small issue I have with the new art:
I like the new pirate guy. However, since it only applies to the pirategreen.png and piratered.png but not pirate.png, the Devious Henchman undergoes extreme cosmetic surgery (bearded old guy -> smooth-skinned bald man) when you bring him into the Nadir for an upgrade. I know Irrigo mess up your appearance but if I knew it cause hair loss I will never visit the place again. We are vain people here!
Maybe the green-hatted pirate should use the old bald guy portrait instead? It fits the Gang of Hoodlums better anyway and helps differentiate between the two purchasable henchmen in the Bazaar. The Ruthless one gets a nice bandanna and the Devious gets to be bald.

The new eye art, while nice, sticks out like a sore thumb in the relickers card. Perhaps it should be a new file instead of replacing the existing green eye? Sudden Insight still use the old green eye and the new eye seems too fearful for some storylets.

Well. Hello. Can Lilac arrange for this?

(That said, using the same art with a palette swap for very different boots was a little odd...) I rather liked the old riding boots myself, though it's been a while since I've last worn them. I suppose the artist is going for consistency now; I recall the hobnailed boots did look a bit odd compared to the stylish riding boots, the squeakless boots and the scuffed boots, of which the latter two remain unchanged. (This is unfortunate, unless it's something temporary; the squeakless boots cost the same as the stylish riding boots and offer a commensurate benefit, so it makes little sense to have them resemble the far cheaper scuffed boots, which are essentially useless and which my character wore at first only because he couldn't afford anything more expensive and didn't want to go barefoot.)
On the other hand, I've never cared for the iron hat art, and I'll be glad to see it replaced by the shinier version pictured in this thread. I still see the old version in the game, though the bonnet and shoes have been updated.
Well, that's funny. Has Nassos Zoologicals always been represented by the Paint-Besplattered Mog? I hadn't noticed that before (being previously unfamiliar with the card).

Aaagh! Changes! I hate and fear changes.
Nah, only kidding, most of it looks pretty good, and I particularly like the swanky new bottle for Master's Blood:
http://images.fallenlondon.com/icons/bottlecrystal.png
However, I have almost painfully sharp visual acuity (and a very good monitor), and the random black dots on the small cloud image are annoying me far more than would seem reasonable:

Anyway, am off to chug around Sunless Sea some more, that thing is a triumph.

I agree in that it seems less shiny. However, I far prefer this new more slightly subdued affair. I can imagine myself actually using it, unlike that bedazzled pimp ordeal we had previously, haha

I've updated the wiki with most of these. Thanks for consolidating all the images for ease of access!
For some reason, for a few I see no difference (only the small versions of: fingerless gloves, grey suit, Masterwork Dancing Slippers), despite force refreshing the page, so I've not uploaded new version.

It's an illusion! It's because they're a pair of boots, very close to each other. They look heftier.
Yes, the picture for Nassos Zoologicals was like that for a while now.
On the topic of the new pictures...they seem good on the big picture but when I put the items on my character it uses a small picture, on the small picture they just luck...can't really explain it, try putting the Iron hat or the Night trimmed frock coat on and look at it, still, some pictures are still good.

It must be a glitch of some sort, though. I clear my cache daily and use two computers, and I never saw those images replacing the regular artwork. If it was intentionally swapped I feel like I should have seen it, and that there would have been far more questions about it somewhere on the forum.

Was it really just some players who couldn't see it, though? I'm rereading the Halloween is here thread and nobody seems to be bringing it up. If most players couldn't see it and the staff didn't say it was changed for the holiday then I'm inclined to believe that the image changing to a FBG staff member was unintentional. I could very well be mistaken, of course, and I'll accept that, but that's just what my gut instinct is telling me. -- edited by Sara Hysaro on 11/9/2015

If I were to guess which character would next receive new artwork, I might respond with the Soft-Hearted Widow, rather than the Cheery Man. That said, I think I already like the new version; he looks more ruthless and calculating.

I like that the quirk icons are clearer and more symbolic, but I'm not a fan of that green color (which is odd because green is usually my favorite color). I think they'd be much better if they either A) each had their own color or B) had the same color scheme as the core stat symbols (Watchful, Shadowy, etc.).

The new quirk artwork is great, but it really doesn't fit the art theme of Fallen London at all. Maybe they're supposed to stand out among other qualities, but my eyes still hurt a little every time my quirks change. A darker theme like the Menaces would work great, I think!
