Zero Summer Discussion Thread

Hello hello! Sometimes I think it’s just one giant rolling beta test. That’s how Google does it, right? ;)

We’ll get them bugs debugged. Thanks as always for the report.

Thanks so much! It all should be taken care of now. Though things being what they are, I’m sure I’ll be back in it up to my elbows tomorrow.

Thanks!
Now… got a new one. When I used the Gunslinger card grind option for the Daniel Schroeder story, it set my Folk Underground to 5 (from 2), finishing the story early. My character name is Ladymadsci; once the card is fixed, can my Folk Underground be reset to 4? (I got the rare successes that normally advance it after posting the message.)

@ladymadsci: the relevant bug is fixed. Could you remind me your character name so I can reset your quality? I know I’ve asked a thousand times, but…

My charactername is Ladymadsci. Keeps it easy to remember.

Gnar. You’re all set!

Hey,

I’ve got some questions regarding the 2nd day afternoon grindcards:

  • I finished the gunslinger line first, and the rep-grind option kept staying there for a while. Then it disappeared. For doc I only ever got it once. Which option is intended? Now both gs and doc are at 5, but I can only grind the r3 option.

  • On the other hand, for cityslicker I appear to be extremely unlucky - it hasn’t even advanced past the r1 level, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s just the random, or there’s something else going on with it too. Having done the nex sidequest I have the &quotask the oldtimers&quot option on screen, but locked, and I cannot ver seem to get that crit success on the deacon… Any pointers?[li]

Thanks in advance!

@agaric: howdy! The Gunslinger grind’s last branch was bugged; we’ve since fixed it. The option which unlocks at R4 is only available once.

The Cityslicker card appears to be working properly. But just to be safe: can you tell me your values for Monsters and the Tall Grass and Cityslicker?

Hi! I chose the second option on &quotThe End Unremembered&quot (the one that raises your Paladin), but my browser froze up. Would it be possible for someone to message me what the result was?
My Hallowed Ground is 37, and I don’t think my Paladin quality changed.

My character name is Andy

@Andy_M: why don’t you shoot us an email at zerosummer@outlook.com? I’ll be happy to forward you the text you missed. :)

Hi, I accidentally had the Bad Omens opportunity card in my hand after I completed that storyline and now it cannot be played or deleted. My character is Jake Lux.

Also, is it possible to go back and reread text you’ve already completed? I enjoy the writing, and it’s sad I can’t do this.

Hey,
I think it was the ultimate power of forum/guildchat/fb (applicable to be underlined) whine that did it for me. Tall Grass was 1 and Cityslicker 29 when I finally wrote the post, and when I next logged on, I got to the end of the line in like 8-9 actions. So thank you, that’s happily sorted now :)

@Falls Sideways: neat bug! It should automatically vanish now. Thanks for playing! :)

@Agaric: glad things worked out for you!

Minor bug: if a maxed-out Gunslinger would-but-cannot-be increased, the notice does not have an image linked.

SPOILER BELOW, IF YOU AREN’T A DEVELOPER, READ ON AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Question: how is the Wound of the Fisher-King supposed ot be working? After I got it, I promptly ran into the blazing library, and got into the hospital. I was much relieved to see that I was able to reduce my Ailments to 0, and not be confined to the hospital forever[/spoiler]. But then again, does the Wound to anything?

Thanks for your continued patience with me :P
Btw, have I mentioned how much I enjoy this game? Well, if I haven’t, then I do. A LOT :) )[li]

@Agaric: Jesus, are you really at 40 Gunslinger? We’re planning to set those caps to THIRTY once we determine they won’t muck with current Style levels.

That particular image bug should go to FBG at support@storynexus.com. :)

Please edit your post to clearly mark it as spoilery!

The Wound is SUPPOSED to stop your Ailments from dropping below 2 when in Amarillo – so you can leave the clinic with 0, though it’ll immediately hop back up. But we forgot to implement the card. Mea culpa. Expect it soon.

Umm… well, to b honest I’m pretty close with Doc and Cityslicker too… I just kept trying to do the differnt things, and they sort of grew.
Have I mentioned I’m really enjoying the game? ;)

couldn’t figure out if there is a spoiler tag or syntax, so added a warning.

Bug forwarded to support.

Just an update: the picture links for Doc and Cityslicker 40 are broken too. Info sent to support.

So you folks know: we’re looking for a couple beta testers for our upcoming Sacred and Profane chapter, BLACK IS THE COLOUR. If you’re interested, drop us a line at zerosummer@outlook.com. Perks include playing the content early, interacting directly with ZS’s developers, and a free pass to the content once it’s finished.[li]

Hello ZS team,
I haven’t been playing for a while, but now that Day 2/Afternoon is out, I’ve reset one of my two SN accounts and been playing through it from the start and remembering all the stories. Played 50 Miles South of Lexington for the first time and was astounded at the backstory – I’d never expected that. A little disappointed that some of the mystery and menace has been spoiled by this new knowledge, but ah well, that’s what backstory does!

One character puzzles me though: The Deacon of St. Francis’s. In the Ministry of Black Powder ending, I was given to understand that he was blind. But in later stories – particularly the Sacred and Profane beginning, and Monsters and the Tall Grass storylet – he is very clearly not behaving like a blind man. (eg. Writing by candlelight, &quotdeclining a look&quot at something.) I’m confused - did I misread the Ministry of Black Powder writing? Can someone straighten me out? :)

@Vega: howdy! Glad you liked “Fifty Miles” – I think it’s one of our strongest pieces of content. I’d be very interested to know what it illuminated about the main plot for you – mysteries and menaces shared, what disappointed you. (For obvious reasons, please tag with spoilers!)

Re: the Deacon: …whoops? ZS is a big story and we missed a trick. I’ll spend some time this weekend revising the Deacon post-Ministry. He is certainly blind.
