Zero Summer Discussion Thread

I’m inclined to agree. Thanks for the input!

By the way, the bribery option in the Gaol doesn’t seem to require dollars to play (no requirement tooltip in the corner).

Edit: Oooh, it’s in the requirement for the card itself, never mind.

The rest of Hallowed Ground is now live for closed beta testers!

Yay! Uh, if we’ve made it to the previous content cap, though, where should we go to continue it?

By the way, success result “Confrontation” in the Cityslicker card: the Man with No Name Shouldn’t the “with” be capitalized? I believe that’s how it’s been capitalized in previous listings of the protagonist’s title.

Ooh, so that’s how the experience point booster talismans work…? It’s a bit wonky though; the ordinary options are still displayed. Seems like they’re supposed to disappear?

Do you mean: re: Hallowed Ground? If so: the Wall Market. (I’ve also updated tooltips on previous cards to make that clearer for future Protagonists.)

Re: talismans, we’re still working out the kinks. Expect to see a different way of handling them on the back end soon.

I’m at the wall market. Neither hide or hair of V.O. Johnson. (G26, D22, C26)

Humm. Hallowed Ground Quality level?

A previewlet from “The Secret History of Elena Villalobos,” our next Nex content. This will be more like “Fifty Miles South of Lexington” than “The Salley Gardens.”

We encourage you to infer all sorts of things from the photo. :)

The level 20 option on the Cityslicker card (“Gathering the Masses”) does not disappear once it locks, unlike other branches.

The Comanche Dreamcatcher does not seem to grant bonus experience points for failure results. Intentional?

Edit: The Battered Dog Whistle seems a bit strange. In the result text for “Following Up on a Promise” where you get it, it says that it costs 1 Reputation at the bottom, yet it doesn’t cost Reputation to use, and in fact is drained when you get one. Is that help text supposed to be on the main branch? That would make more sense. Might also want to put a 1 Reputation requirement on it, too, otherwise it could theoretically be abused to get one for free…

Edit 2: Forgot to mention this before: After talking to Billy, the game says that Harvestmen continues on “the Calo card”. I’m not entirely sure what that is. I’ve been flipping cards for a while but I haven’t seen it, so it must not be an opportunity card…?

Oh, and also, isn’t the Guest Room supposed to have a journal thing that reviews your plot progress? I only have the character retirement option.

The first thing is a waffling issue. Not sure whether I want it to persist unto infinity or not.

The second thing is intentional: only successes give boosts from Talismans.

Do you not have Ally: Calo?

The Potter County Almanac is coming soon.

I do not.

Oh lawd. Well, that bug when on awhile. There must be a cadre of older players who didn’t receive their Allies and didn’t have the fix-the-problem card issued properly. Should be sorted now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

NOTE: The allies fix went into effect for me.

You can tell these 14-hour days are starting to wear me out! Glad we’re all taking a break once we release this content. :)

Key of Dreams was still on the relevant storylet. HG should be playable now.

…he is at the Wall Market, right? Nothing in my pinned cards.

Mission, I’m afraid. Goodness.

Ah, it works. Thank you!

Who is Calo?

The skinny destitute girl from Day 1/Morning.

We need a favor from you folks.

We’ve just uploaded Zero Summer to the Interactive Fiction Database (IFDB). It would help us a LOT if you would drop our page and give us a good rating.

(And if you’ve got a few extra minutes: a short, sweet review wouldn’t hurt!)

Thanks so much. We couldn’t do this without you.
