Austere/Hedonist, Daring/Melancholy, Forceful/Subtle, Heartless/Magnanimous, Ruthless/Steadfast. It’s an alignment system of sorts, with five parallel axes each with 31 stages (1-15 of each quality, plus true neutral). It makes sense that the "opposed" quirks can coexist to a certain extent, but from the alignment-axis perspective it’s weird that quirks can be all brought to 15 at once.

The "church = austere" thing is pretty weird. Towering cathedrals, gilded frescoes, and dramatic organ recitals don’t seem terribly austere to me.
